Groups that don't need protected from anything. Groups who haven't been put at any systemic disadvantage in society. Usually that's just the majority group, but even when you're not a minority you can be at an unfair disadvantage too (women are half the population, and globally racial minority/majorities are different than they are by country).

Per US Federal law, women as a group are not protected. Women in certain situations (ex: equal opportunity regardless of sex in employment, equal opportunity in sports via Title 9) are protected, just like other groups are protected in well-defined situations.
