• Cartels are deeply embedded into Mexico culture and corruption. Mexicos war on drugs has only made this worse. This county has smuggling illegal goods it the USA since the prohibition 100 years ago. It’s sadly integrated into their culture and it’s hard (if not impossible) to reverse that in a impoverished country.

Of all the dumb fringe conspiracy theories this one is pretty much out there. As if all the covert and overt meddling with various banana republics hasn't created enough chaos over the decades. You actually want to be useful in the war against drugs? Enforce legislation for a national gun register and laws that stop all gun sales to Mexicans, etc.

Not really. It was pretty much everything republicans wanted and nothing democrats wanted, but then I don't actually care much about the border. So mostly I'm just irritated republicans had a chance to fix something they have been complaining about for 30 years and dropped it because they abruptly realized if they fixed it they wouldn't be able to complain anymore. And yet, despite the crumbling of the facade, their legion of ragetards kept right on complaining without skipping a beat. This tells me pretty much the entire right knows its all fake but is doing it anyway for attention.
