Do Indian people wear deodorant?

I acme across a podcast saying that Koreans don't wear deodorant because they don't have body odor and wearing deodorant is a western thing, so I wonder whether Indians wear it or not because Indian food is very spicy which results as body odor right?

Indian is a very generalised term. India is as diverse as entire Europe. Most girls wear deodrant or some kind of perfumes , unless they are from very remote areas. Younger guys do wear deodrant but not everyone or always. Many aren't that much into hygiene. Indian society is not like western, it can be complex to understand.

In my experience with Indians in college, yeah, they stank. I lived with two of them 30 years ago and you could smell our apartment from 200 yards away..

They don't have body odor because they take better care of themselves and don't put processed garbage and chemicals in their body because it "taste good"

When I started growing my own food and making stuff from scratch, including deodorant, my body odor disappears too (multiple people have been shocked that I don't wear deodorant because I never smell bad)

watch some videos on what public life is like in india. I'm not trying to piss anybody off here but... body odor is probably the least offensive odor you would be worried about there. so there really is not a lot of point in using deodorant when everything else smells like shit or garbage.

There are about 1.5 billion Indians. I have no idea how many of them wear deodorant, as far as I know it could be anything between 2% to 98%, but even if it's only 2.5% you're still talking about 37 million Indians wearing deodorant, this is about the population of Canada.

That is interesting about Koreans. Tbh, I don't get body odour. Unless I'm particularly stressed. Maybe it's cause I'm plant based and try and keep good habits.

It's not the absence of deodorant use that's the issue here really, but the kind of foods that a person generally eats (in this instance, curry-based dishes) that can cause odour issues.

The Korean thing is a unique genetic trait so they don't need it. There are other cultures that don't wear it but should.
