Oh gosh I’ve experienced racism before but never overtly to my face.
Yesterday the waiter denied me entering a restaurant insisting they were “closed” which they weren’t.
And today some stupid elderly man decided to go off at me on the airplane - which I did back.
I can’t help but feel upset about it to be honest. As if there isn’t enough bad going on in the world.
Yes I have and sadly it’s something that probably will never go away , just the way society is , most people are judgmental and rude and disrespectful period. There is a lot of negativity in this world and sadly it’s something we all have to learn to walk away from , as much as we possibly can and try to surround ourselves with positivity as much as possible. I wish I had the answers but sadly I do not , all I do for myself is distance myself from negative people as much as possible , I treat people the same way I want to be treated in return, that’s pretty much all we can do for ourselves , if someone wants to rain on your parade and talk shit on you or wants to be rude to you? Just walk away and Say to yourself , Bless Them, Change Me. Because if someone wants to be rude and disrespectful to you for whatever reason that may be? , that’s their problem not yours. You are best to not make it your problem , just walk away and distance yourself from them because the truth is , they really shouldn’t mean anything to you because the truth is they are nothing , if someone can’t be kind and respectful to you the same way you are kind and respectful to them? They sadly have their own personal issues that they should seek help for. Why I say Bless Them , change me , My intentions when I am out in public, isn’t to start shit with anyone , I don’t walk out of my home and think to myself who am I going to start shit with today? If I thought that? Then I would know something is wrong with me lol why I treat everyone the same way I want to be treated in return. If someone doesn't t like me or hates me for whatever reason that’s fine and dandy, because that is not my problem , that is their problem , it isn’t my problem until it becomes my problem , until I am confronted by them and they say something to my face. If they don’t confront me or say what they want to say to my face? That is their problem and they can gladly talk all the shit they want on me if that makes them feel better about themselves. I am flattered that someone wants to waste that much time and energy talking about me , Thanks for the compliment , I am flattered I mean that much to you lol. Honestly our society needs to wake the fuck up and start working together instead of working against each other , but it will never happen because most of us people do not think alike , if everyone on this planet thought alike the world we be a much better place but sadly society is controlled by Power and Greed , The Government
I can’t say that I’ve experienced racism. I won’t ever lose my job, my house, my bank accounts, etc for belonging to the majority in my country (America).
I am unable to experience racism from American systemic racism because I’m a white. Black people face more racism than I can ever understand. This is why I cannot say that I’ve experienced racism.
I can say that I’ve experienced racial discrimination though I’m privileged to say that I don’t feel unsafe from it. I know that when I call the cops on someone who racially discriminates me the cops will take my word for it and even arrest the other person meanwhile white Karen’s are calling the cops on any black person for acting suspicious.
I can confidently say that I know where I stand in the system and I’m not afraid to use my privilege to help those who don’t have it because that’s all I can really do with it.

Definitely. The worst was when I was walking in the park, this lady came up to me yelling in my face calling my a racial slur, saying I don't belong showing my face in a public place, & said if she had her kn! fe with her, she'd stab me. She was drunk, coming out of the bar across the street, but that is no excuse. She tried to swing at me, but she was a little short woman and I didn't have any struggle getting her off of me before I had to call the police.

Traveled to 10+ countries and interestingly never experienced racism. Being a good looking woman tends to bring out people's humanistic side I guess.

Mine were closer to your first experience. It was subtle but obvious.
It happened to me in Taiwan. It was mostly stuff like giving other Asians better and priority treatment and letting them get away with more. And people not wanting to sit next to us or get into elevators with us, and not trusting us. I never got denied entry into a restaurant, but we could be the first in line to buy something and they would help the Asians first. And when we booked a tour, the Asians paid the guide in person, but we had to pay through our hotel staff, like the guide didn't trust Whitey to pay up. Then he dropped all the Asians off at their hotel, but kicked us out in the middle of the city and got us a cab, 'cuz he was running late. And in a train, one lady took her mask off and got me sick on purpose. Another lady yelled at us for going out on the hotel balcony but said nothing to the Asians. And on a few occasions it was so obvious people were talking shit about us and were displeased with our presence.
I also experienced it recently in Latin America. In Mexico there was a tour office and we were waiting for 10 minutes ignored, but as soon as two Mexican ladies walked on, staff was all over them
AND in Panams, the ferry was overbooked and one of the staff members was going around asking only the White people to make room.
And in Grenada a bus driver demanded more money from us and another tourist to get off at a designated stop, after we'd already paid. And it was also obvious some of the locals were displeased with us riding the bus and were laughing at us and mocking us.
And on a few occasions, when we were on a tour with brown people, the tour guide was kissing the brown clients' ass.
And one n word kid in high school called me "White boy" once in a darogatory manner, which I'll be honest, I probably deserved. But aside from that, pretty much everything else just stemmed from supremacist mentality. Like those people viewed anyone who wasn't their race as inferior, and therefore unworthy of equal treatment. They prioritized their own race.

Well that’s interesting! I’ve never been to that side of Asia or South America so I didn’t know they’d be racist to white people.
I was on the plane back home - was on vacation in Portugal. I was on the phone to my mum speaking in Arabic when some idiot old English man kept staring at me. I said what’s up and he started arguing with me. I swore at him lol.
The CIA has done some bad things in Latin America and a lot of them also started hating us after Trump was elected.
Asians I was surprised too. I thought they respect White people because they consider both of us the master races, but they look down on anyone who isn't Asian. They hate other Asians too but will still treat another Asian better than a non-Asian. And in Japan for example it doesn't matter if you were born there, if you're nit ethnically Japanese, you're not Japanese.

Probably, but i wouldn’t know. Most people don’t. Aside from overt racism, i. e. being deliberately targeted with racial slurs and pejoratives, there’s no way to know. What most whiners are cherry picking is the loss of their own privilege. They didn’t get the job they wanted? Must’ve gone to someone of a different race. They got pulled over WHILE committing a traffic violation? Must be profiling. Didn’t get the service they wanted? Server must be racist. Rather than just admitting that they can’t always be first, everyone wants to play the victim card, without any REAL evidence of racial motivation whatsoever.
It’s a disease. Sometimes i think we’d get along better if we actually had racism instead of the never-ending claims of racial injustice. At least we can actually do something about racism. There’s no cure for all the false accusations and race bating.

Then you should brush up on your reading and comprehension skills. I clearly indicated that i probably have experienced covert racism. It’s fair to say everyone who has encountered people of another race has experienced covert racism. It would be just as ignorant to suggest covert racism doesn’t exist as it is to suggest that every not best thing ever that happens to people of color happens because of racism. Nobody gets to win all of the time. Sometimes we lose and it’s probably not racism, or sexism, or ageism, or sizism, or any other popular scapegoat. Sometimes you’re just a loser. That’s life.
Also, everyone experiences privileges and everyone suffers. It’s ignorant at best to suggest otherwise. It’s commonly disingenuous because it has become common to use “privilege” as a pejorative term. I’m no more privileged than you. You’re just part of the same clown show that puts feelings above facts and still can’t accept that means you’re going to be wrong much more frequently than those of us who value verifiable facts.
Living in Sweden, being born to mixed Asian/middle eastern parents, I feel directly or indirectly we face racism in our lives. Sometimes it's clear, whilst most times it’s so unclear that you don't recognise it and/or you do long after.
There was a point in my life where I was gonna move to Sweden and I was told by many not to because of this.
I feel the silent racism is the worst. When they treat you as being fresh of the boat whilst never saying it directly to your face. How is it in UK? Do you stand up against being victimised or do you feel there is no point?
I think it depends on where you’re from in the UK. I’m from London which is very diverse so most of the time, no. But at work I’ve definitely experienced discrimination. Certain people would think it’s ok to say certain things or their actions would hint they look down on me.

yeah but it's very rare. most people aren't racists. but our society has some systemic racism. like for example programmes that favor certain races in the pursuit of "compensating" for a statistical inequality. the problem with inequality really is that politicians media and even normal every day people use "inequality" to mean "unfairness" but it dosesn't. in other words, inequality litterally means "not being the same". and if i word it like this, i chalenge anyone to tell me why that is bad? because then they'd have to say "diversity" is bad.

I didn't know you were Russian. OMG, that happened to my mom. My mom is actually Polish and people kept giving her praise for helping Ukraine, so one time she wanted to see what would happened if she said she's Russian and she got chewed out by both customers and the cashier. They told her, "You're a war criminal! Everyone hates you!" Then when she got defensive, they called her rude. She straight up told the cashier, "Last week I said I was Polish and you said I'm nice. Today I said I'm Russian and you said I am rude."
I'll admit, the Russians I've met haven't been the nicest people, but that was completely uncalled for. She did nothing to provoke them, and I'm sorry you've had to deal with that. People are retarded and it's that kind of brainwashed ignorance that makes me disgusted with American society.

I think it's bullshit the way Russian athletes, people and journalists are being treated. Azerbaijan excommunicated the entire Armemian population from Nagorno-Karabkh and there no FIFA sanctions against Azerbaijan or no freezing of Azeri assets, or banning of Azeri news channels. I also don't see these kinds of actions being taken against Israel, Palestine or China. Or Turkey and Venezuela who keep threatening their neighbors.
I'm not particularly fond of Russia, but I hate double standards, and I don't think politics should be mixed with sports. But if you're gonna do that, you should do it equally across the board.

My black friend from 24 hour fitness, invited me to his home for Easter Sunday dinner. I sent a center piece for the table the day before. I was the only white person at the table, and the other black guests gave me "mad-dog" looks the entire meal.

Yep definitely experienced racism. Especially my grandfather. He was super rich (think the equivalent to hundreds of millions today) when he moved to America and it was all stolen (legally) from him by a county in California.
