I quit watching the news during the pandemic. I used to be very into politics, but when I realized it was causing me to dehumanize people, stress out about things that I have no control over, and be a person I didn't want to be, I stopped. I'm not saying politics isn't important, I just started to feel like it had turned into The Hunger Games, where everything is staged and curated, regardless of what we do or say. I read the book Permanent Record by Edward Snowden, and it gave some insight into how massive the system back East really is. I don't know what the solution is, but I think there's a real chance is starts with treating people we disagree with respectfully to win them, versus cussing them out and spewing vitriol.

Snowden said something that really stuck with me and I think it is applicable to more than just technology. "If you understand the system, you can hack it". In other words, master every angle and then we will be able to find a solution.
