I see a lot of bad news about America, shootings, robberies, etc...

+1 yDon't buy into it. This is false propaganda perpetuated by enemies of the United States who are attempting to hurt America's tourist business.
USA has 340 million people. It's the third largest country in the world by population and the most successful country in the world measured by its economy.
There are more people trying to get into America to live from all over the world, then are trying to get into all the other countries on the planet combined. They are giving up all their possessions and risking their lives by the millions just to have a chance to live here.
There is a saying that you can tell whether a country is good or bad by whether people are trying to get in or trying to get out. And no country on the planet has more people trying to get it (legally or illegally) than the United States of America.
Places like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea... which are attempting to destroy America, are just the opposite. People are risking their lives just to escape these places.
That tells you all you need to know.
Is there crime in America? With 340 million people who are enjoying more freedom than people anywhere else in the world, or course there is. But to suggest that it is something that is rampant in the country is nothing but false anti-American propaganda from places that are either envious of America's great success or have nefarious intent to destroy it.
There is a 99.9999999% chance you will not encounter anything close to violence if you visit America. It is extremely rare considering the population and the freedom we enjoy and mostly confined to a few bad places (tiny areas of the country) where the laws are not enforced for political reasons. I have not personally witnessed any violent crime here in decades even though I have travelled the whole country.
America welcomes tourists and everyone who wants to come here legally. It is one of the best tourist destinations on the planet.

By the way, America is also the most racially diverse country.
There are millions of people of Chinese heritage living here including some people in my family and my neighborhood. I am personally a friend of a family from Hong Kong that owns a business in my community. Two of my cousins married Chinese women and so their children are my Chinese blood relatives.
Most people from China that I have met are wonderful people and a great addition to America's strength. The people of China are always welcome here. The government of China, on the other hand, is not. We understand the difference. - +1 y
I have been to the United States many times. My uncle works in Los Angeles and I often visit him.

Which US area has the most buxom blondes?

They have their freedom and dictate to the rest of the world and fight illegal wars if those countries do not agree to their dictatorship

@handsomelad70 easily Minnesota settled by swedes if you want natural blonde
- +1 y
@DrPepper12 OK, but I mean WARM places.

@DarkLegacy
The United States of America has liberated more people from poverty, oppression, and tyranny and all other countries in the world combined.
If not for the unprecedented sacrifices of the United States and its righteous defense in two world wars, you and the rest of Europe would be doing the goose step and shouting Heil Hitler to this day.
It is only because of the strength of the US military and the sacrifice of the American people that your country can survive to this day. You owe your freedom to America because without it Europe would be overrun in a heartbeat.

+1 yIt's a great place to travel. It's very large and diverse. So it has something to offer just about anyone.
Don't worry about all the sensationalized news. Those news companies thrive on negativity and controversy. That's how they make money, so they make everything sound bigger than it is.
Just use common sense. Don't do the kind of things you wouldn't be doing anyway. Don't join violent gangs. Don't hang around drug dealers. Don't get drunk at rough bars and start fights.
Heck, you don't even have to worry about pick-pockets like in many parts of the world. Sure, it happens, so you need to use common sense, but it's very rare compared to other places.

Thank you, I'm just visiting loved ones and traveling
+1 yWell truth be told I travel to the USA a lot for work. I used to love visiting the USA but avoid it now. The current political situation makes travel to the USA stressful. You always have to be on guard not to offend someone. I recently was traveling down I75 and came upon a billboard proclaiming that Democrats where evil... wtf? It seems collectively the USA is losing their minds. Guns are everywhere. Many States allow open carry. I find it very unsettling the US love of guns. If I flipped someone the bird by mistake on an Interstate would I maybe end up dead by GSW? I have plenty of travel choices and sadly the USA would be one of my last choices to visit now.

Come and travel to my country, it is safe and has many beautiful sights and delicious food.

I have traveled to Hong Kong and the mainland as well. Wonderful people. Amazing sights. But Hong Kong has changed in the past few years.
- +1 y
That is a ridiculous review of America. It sounds like it comes from some kind of cartoon. Frankly it is very ignorant.
- +1 y
Yes, Hong Kong and the mainland are both good, and you are welcome to travel here again when you have time. What happened?
- +1 y
@RingOfFire Well I am not the only Canadian with a view like this... or European. Its saddens me to say this too. I used to have a high regard for the USA... a true leader of the free world. Great open friendly people who would welcome visitors with open arms. But those days have passed. The USA is bogged down in ignorance, anger xenophobia and suspicion of everyone... I dreamed of retirement and touring North America in an RV... I can still do that but I will be sticking to the Northern part. I laughed the other day when i saw adds during hockey playoff promoting travel to the USA... never saw that before in Canada. Wonder why?
- +1 y
Well to be frank the Communist Party happened. They have made China and Hong Kong less safe for Westerners. Two Canadians were held in jail for over 2 years on trumped up charges. I have no desire for that to be me.
- +1 y
The information we received was that they were engaged in espionage and were arrested and imprisoned. What you see is completely different from what we see.
- +1 y
Well is the information you receive accurate? Or controlled by the government? Either way I do not wish to risk it.
- +1 y
We are free and the government does not control us. You have been here before and you already have some idea of how we live.。you can safely do all your travel activities here without any problems.
- +1 y
Couldn't agree more, northerngal. The U. S. may be a second DJT Presidency from its second Civil War.( "GSW?" Golden State Warriors?)
- +1 y
I have a few friends who were born and raised in Hong Kong but recently immigrated Canada they paint a different picture of life in Hong Kong now. They miss their friends and family but are glad to have immigrated. They certainly would not describe China as "free"... but this is a government thing.
- +1 y
@handsomelad70 Oh I hope not... we Canadians sleep next door to the elephant. We always are fearful the elephant will roll over...

- +1 y
Trump LOOKS like an elephant. And more and more, America is beginning to look like the former Soviet Union a few years before its collapse... all weaponry and a declining economy, though America's economy is still FAR better than late 80's pre-Russia's.
- +1 y
I work for a major airline so I am very fortunate to explore and meet people from all over the world...
- +1 y
@handsomelad70 Ha ha ha ha... dont get me started on Russia! lol The USA still has a long way to go before i would ever compare it to Russia thankfully. One thing I have learned in all my travels are people are mostly the same... its the governments that tend to screw things up.
- +1 y
Yes, your job is great, I also want to meet many people from different countries in the world like you,

@handsomelad70 Damn. My condolences.
- +1 y
@handsomelad70 Sorry to hear that, hope you are doing well sir.

Russia will likely totally collapse by 2040, but barring MAJOR changes, the USA may beat Russia to such an ignoble end by five years, if not more.
- +1 y
Thanks, northerngal. So far, I appear fine.
- +1 y
@handsomelad70 I hope you are wrong... I hope the USA turns the corner and does a quick 180 from the dead end street its on right now. The world needs strong USA leadership.
- +1 y
Hey i have to hit the sack... early day tomorrow... like stupid early lol Thanks for the discussion all.
- +1 y
But no strong US leadership seems forthcoming. I also hope I'm wrong.
- +1 y
Sorry to hear that and yes guns are a problem in too many places in usa
- +1 y
Guns aren't a problem anyplace in America.
Criminals are a problem in some places. But in the vast majority of the country even that isn't an issue. Most of the crime is in the cities run by Democrats because Democrats don't believe in enforcing the law. - +1 y
@RingOfFire Its always about the Dems... can't you see because of this us vs them attitude the USA has become a toxic country. The USA needs intervention by its allies but we are all too afraid since you all have guns...
- +1 y
Look... the USA is the worst, most evil country in the world...
*** Except for all the others! *** - +1 y
@RingOfFire You know the first step in fixing any problem is to admit you have a problem... that attitude indicates a very closed mind. I know of two Americans who always tell people they are from Canada when they travel...
- +1 y
I wouldn't go to Canada if they paid me to with the communist Trudeau in office.
If it wasn't for the United States and our military, Canada would be doing the goosestep and chanting "Heil Hitler" along with the Europeans. And then you have the nerve to disrespect our country this way. - +1 y
@RingOfFire Ha ha ha... damn you are really stuck in your ways. Well truth be told you would hate Canada anyway. We actually tend to care about each other instead of just ourselves. Oh and maybe you need to review what happened 80 years ago... I think it was 3 countries that stormed the beaches of Normandy... Britain, Canada and the United States. Britain and Canada (and others) held of the Nazi for years while you waited to be sneak attacked by Japan... do not try to revise history please.
- +1 y
Canada is lucky if it gets 12 million tourists a year.
United States gets 70 million+.
That tells you all you need to know.
You can keep your commie country and I thank you for not coming here to pollute ours. We are doing just fine without you. - +1 y
@RingOfFire Well see... we can agree on something! Have your self a great day

@KostasKouvalis cause the Florida man lives here 😂
Honestly yeah it was safer when I was a kid but I can go out for a walk without feeling in danger. I always bring a box cutter with me though, just for precaution.
Do you feel safe in California? I would imagine it's more dangerous than Florida since there had always been a stereotype about gangs in California even in the 90's - +1 y
Ah yes, the infamous Florida Man. Damn. Something changed. When I visited in 2021, it was ranked number 3, and now it's not even in the top 10, while California is number 9.
Well, where I live there's a lot of homeless and tweakers. Sometimes some crazies will bother you, but I don't really feel in danger. Though my dad's truck got broken into for the first time a few years ago, and this used to be a very safe neighborhood.
The neighboring town where the university is, is more sketchy, but usually during the day you won't have any issues. And my town is mostly dangerous after dark.
Most of the crime is in the big cities, which I've been avoiding.
My town is very redneck so no fucks with us. LOL - +1 y
@KostasKouvalis I didn't know you guys really had rednecks like that in California lol
There's plenty of them here in FL of course. I don't know how how they are in other states but the ones from FL don't bother you if you don't bother them. Some of them are even nice. - +1 y
Oh yeah, my town was once named the "Redneck Capital of America"
I don't know. I've met some crazy rednecks at my work😂

+1 yThe US is a great place to travel, lots of sights to see, people to meet, and food to taste. Just be cognizant of your surroundings and personal safety, as you would anywhere in the world you visit. You'll have a great time. The only negative for a foreigner now is the strong dollar. It's going to be a bit more expensive for a foreigner because of the currency exchange rate.

+1 yIt depends where you'd like to go but it's only usually big cities that have the major issues. LA NYC and Chicago are very bad in parts but a lot of other places are fine.
It's somewhat exaggerated abroad and simultaneously underestimated domestically
09 Reply- +1 y
@slatyb they're both pretty bad lol especially LA but NYC isn't as bad as say 40 years ago but it's getting worse regularly. I have family in both that have said it's significantly worse than 8-10 years ago. Tourist destinations are probably fine though I agree.
Assuming OP is European then she would likely view the statistics of NYC and La as horrifying though lol. - +1 y

Suggestions for Las Vegas? I haven't been there in a long time, I don't know all the latest attractions. I could ask one of my friends. I live 20 miles south of Los Angeles but rarely go there, either. When I do recreational stuff it usually involves getting out of the city. I go to Big Bear in the mountains and hike around, go down to Corona Del Mar and go to the beach, go out to the desert and shoot guns, etc
- +1 y
@Staximus Yes, Las Vegas is recommended. Los Angeles is my first stop, and I won't go to the mountains when I go there, it's not safe for me.
