I mean that they want him out as the candidate for 2024 and to announce he will not be the candidate. They COULD dump him using the 25th Amendment if they could get his Cabinet to cooperate, but even if they could buy them off to throw him out, there isn't enough time to do it before the election.

I don't think they want him to resign as president before the term is up although they may not have any choice if things get bad enough and may be calling for that too.

Either way, there is a very good chance Kamla Harris is going to either be the president for the balance of this term or the candidate for 2024 unless they buy her off to quit too and put in some other black woman instead.

IF they follow party rules, that is not correct. After he was nominated, he is the only one who can remove him as the candidate. The only way they could do it is to invoke the 25th Amendment (which isn't going to happen) or to convince him to step down voluntarily. And I think its a very good bet that he is cutting a deal to keep them all, Jill, Hunder, Joe, James and the rest of the family out of jail in return for stepping down.
