1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The importance of the office of President of the United States , must always hold the ultimate in terms of respect for the office , now Mr Trump is a past president now running again , and its 80% sure he will be successful..
No matter what you may think of individuals you must respect the office , here we have a very wealthy , 78 year old man , putting on a red or blue tie , and suit , donating the salary to Charity , he also does not drink any alcohol at all , its a pretty dedicated approach , I'm not sure that I could be bothered doing all that when I could just run my own enterprise and focus on that , and I'm much younger , I think the man is incredible frankly.
As for survival , absolutely , but that would go for anyone , out of respect for the office of president , and anyone that isn't " happy " should frankly take a long hard look at their personnal attitude.

I don't root for the deaths of politicians and I love my country and I want the border shut down and to stop the invasion of millions of illegals every year and to start getting them deported. Only Trump is willing to do that as he was already doing that back in 2016-20. The dems are the one having our nation invaded by millions of people.

I'm just here to clarify, it was an AR-15, it's an assault rifle although if it was scoped then it can work as a sniper rifle but isn't classified as a sniper rifle, if it would've been a higher caliber than a 5.56, it's possible it would've actually hit him judging by the angle it came from.
- +1 y
@ChicoFromThe305 you mean sniper bullet is bigger or more accurate?
- +1 y
They come in different calibers but many are bigger than a 5.56 and sniper rifles have a longer barrel which align the bullet better to give better accuracy and depending on the type of ammunition the amount of gunpowder added to the cartridge is different, the more gunpowder, the more powerful the bullet will shoot out of the cartridge and yes sniper rifles for the most part, their purpose is accuracy and seeing that the 5.56 hit trump in the ear a sniper rifle could have reached his skull, best outcome he would've lost his ear if the angle was a good alignment for a missed shot to the head, its also possible that a sniper round that hit bystanders wouldve penetrated the bystanders and hit people behind those bystanders as well, actually just 5.56 have a pretty high chance of penetration on flesh, knowing this information it's also good to mention that the accuracy also relies on the shooter too, the shooter wasn't a lousy shot from the looks of it a 300m shot with an assault rifle (scoped or not) wasn't an easy shot for a civilian and it would've hit his head if trump didn't slightly turn his head, it looked to be aimed at the back of his head.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYou mean the staged assassination where one of the cultists paid the ultimate price? Let's say out loud what this divided country is thinking:
60 million American voters are happy about it; 70 million American voters are sad the guy missed.Oh sure, a lot of folks will take the high road and say "There's no place for this in politics or the USA", and they're right. But because Trump and the GOP represent fascism, authoritarianism and the demolition of Democracy as they know it, they'd really rather see him gone one way or the other.

@anon You are a total nutjob with you batshit crazy idea that it was staged. Keep talking and let people know you are unhinged. You have to be a complete loser and I jniw this because it is not possible a competent successful person would even entertain such a thought much less promote it. Nutjob.

The election wasn’t stolen and I never said it was. Assassination attempts often have conspiracy theories around them. Oswald did act alone although he may have been trained while in the Soviet Union.
This guy did act alone as well although he may have been trained by someone else and encouraged to do it. Or he might have just been as big of a nut as you and got lucky with a Secret Service and local police force that didn’t do their job. - +1 y

- +1 y
@Jersey2 They say its staged because they aren't concerned with basic truth. I am the kind of guy who always questions the narrative including with this event. I love a good conspiracy theory and have all kinds of controversial opinions as a result. But you do that based on an actual credible thesis. People saying it may be staged the first 5 minutes sure, you don't have all the evidence yet thats fine. But with all the evidence that has come out, the actual deaths, the people recording it from all angles, the bullets captured on lifestreams, etc if anyone says it at this point they are dishonest or braindead and merely copying evil dishonest people.
There is way more evidence pointing to the concept that this may have been done on purpose to get rid of Trump (Which I am not saying happened, we don't know enough for that conclusion yet either) than there is to this whole thing being a publicity stunt like the left is claiming. - +1 y
Why would ANYONE be happy about an attempted assassination unless they're a soulless cretin? (Oh, that's right;there are PLENTY of soulless cretins !!!)
- +1 y
@Juxtapose not just the wind. He was very slightly moving his head during the speech. He could never know where is the accurate angle of his head for missing the bullet.

@Friendlybro79: The fact is that numerous leftists have engaged in political violence and numerous leftists have openly called for Trump to be assassinated.
What's really lazy is ignoring the criminality of your fellow leftists- they'd be just as happy to make you collateral damage in their death cult's desire for absolute power over others. - +1 y
@Avicenna please provide receipts for leftists engaging in political violence and the ones who called for his assassination. That's a vague statement that I would like to know more about. If you say something like that it would be great to show a link. For one I don't condone that behavior. The reality is people that say they're are bad people on the left and right. I can distinguish that outliers don't make all conservatives or all liberals bad. Be more specific please. I welcome facts with receipts thank you b
- +1 y
@Friendlybro79: Are you really claiming that no Democrats called for Trump to be assassinated? Is that the hill you want to die on? Have you been living under a rock and never heard of Antifa and BLM riots, of the harassment and violence directed at Jewish students at some universities? Have you never heard of the violent shooting at the Republicans practicing for a baseball game with Democrats in 2017 where Steve Scalise was wounded by a rabid Democrat who went looking for Republicans to shoot? Never heard of the attempt on Justice Kavanagh's life in 2022? MSNBC didn't cover any of those events?
As for calls for Trump's assassination, Bette Midler made one recently. Remember Kathy Griffin's "beheading" of Trump? And Joe Biden himself called recently for "a bullseye to be placed on Trump".
- +1 y
@Avicenna no liberals in a position of power or influence have done so, that I'm aware of. But that doesn't even matter as i would happily condemn them for it. You're only bringing it up to hope we forget that you will not condemn your leaders and influences when they openly call for or celebrate the assassination of democrats.
- +1 y
Conservatives don't call for or celebrate the assassination of Democrats, and certainly not your vaguely stated "leaders and influences". But the earlier political violence by leftists was minimized and the rhetoric and propaganda that lead to it continued. Leftists continue to minimize the violence by claiming the assassination attempt on Trump was staged or that a Republican did it. Some have cheered it. And let's not forget that Democrats were only a week or two ago falsely claiming that the President could order the assassination of a political rival and have immunity for it.
Joe Biden, who said a bullseye was going to be put on Trump, has admitted it was a mistake to say it, and its common sense that the extreme anti-Trump rhetoric that's been going on for years was going to have an effect on the less-restrained Democrats. That rhetoric, especially from someone whose administration has engaged in censorship and constant propaganda against its political opponents, has been irresponsible and false, much as Maine Democratic Congressman Jared Golden has pointed out. - +1 y
Of course they do. Not going to grapple with the character limit but just a few examples include:
Trump suggested in 2016 that “Second Amendment people” could solve the problem of Hillary Clinton picking judges; or his 2020 attacks on Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, who became the target of a kidnapping plot; or election workers bombarded with death threats as Trump lied that the 2020 election was stolen;
The October 2022 tweet by Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. mocking then–House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul after a home intruder hit him in the head with a hammer; or Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s 2022 campaign video in which she promised to “blow away the Democrats’ socialist agenda” as she took aim with a rifle;
In 2024, the Kansas Republican Party’s March fundraiser where attendees could donate to kick and punch an effigy of President Biden; or Don Jr.’s reposting an image of Biden bound and gagged in the back of a pickup truck
Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson of North Carolina, who is running for the governorship and who is scheduled to spoke at the Republican National Convention, saying just two weeks ago: “Some folks need killing! It’s time for somebody to say it.”
there's enless example and pretending you don't see any of this means you will never fix it.
Which means you don't actually want it fixed. You want political violence. - +1 y
And its not democrats who were saying the president could call for an assassination and have immunity for it. It was trumps lawyers. And the far right Supreme Court agreed. Why don't you have a problem with that? Because you want political violence.
And I can guarantee the shooter was not in on the private phone call to which you refer.
And it simply isn't "rhetoric" when we are repeating your own words back at you. You're saying that because you want christian nationalism and want people to just shut up about you wanting christian nationalism.
And there has been no censorship by this administration. Right wing media just tells you that to get you worked up so you are comfortable with political violence. Looks like it worked..
