People who are worth the most, financially speaking, are almost always worthless as human beings. They are the type of people who have the strongest need to hide behind spectacular success, such as a massive fortune.

They need tangible, undisputable proof that they're not "losers". Without that, they are nothing and they're very much aware of that fact.

Who would give a shit about Elon Musk if he was making 60-70K$ a year (not rich, not poor)? Who would be friends with him and who would admire him?

I haven't care for Wil Wheaton, although I appreciate his efforts in some areas. He is also kind of a jerk too. That said Will is kind of venting here regarding his home life. Musk has lots of friends and time for nobody. If you don't like Musk's blunt way of dealing with things don't work for him and don't listen to him.

Musk gets results, and to be honest it is somewhat unlikely Musk is even capable of reading the room well enough to be diplomatic as Will Wheaton does. That is not a trait people with Aspergers tend to be good at. Not that Musk really has time for that either.

Which is kind of what makes him jive with people like Trump well, as Trump isn't too different. Except trump really is an asshole by choice unlike Elon.
