I only visited one town in the Pyrenees for a few hours. But almost all French people I've met have been very polite and pleasant and thick skinned. And from my research, France seems to be more tourist friendly than other European countries. They don't practice price discrimination, and they aren't as strict on Schengen applications. There was one Indian girl who got denied a Schengen visa by Switzerland, because she wasn't sure what countries she would be visiting. France said she should've applied with them because they would've granted it, because they don't see traveling on the whim as an issue. French have always been respectful, understanding and passionate about adventure and travel. They produce the best maps in the world and they invented hiking shelters and five star resorts. While there is a huge apartment culture, at least on mainland France, you can still find American style hotels at reasonable prices. Maybe not so much on the island. If you include the overseas departments, the country is incredibly diverse. Some of your laws and politicians are crazy, but I still command them for preserving their culture. I read that on St. Martin, there is nothing Dutch about the Dutch side, but if you cross over to the French side, it actually feels French. I read France even passed a law that French radio stations must play mostly French music. I don't know of any other Western country that's so passionate about preserving their culture. Though I heard some things aren't as common anymore. But French psychie and beauty standards allign very closely with mine. Like a lot of things that most people would consider weird or crazy, French consider them normal. Anyways, it's my favorite country and nationality honestly. You can say I'm a French supremacist, even though I'm not French. But of course, it has it's problems too like everywhere else, and French people know this, which is why they aren't arrogant like other nationalities. I guess it's also kind of a good thing that nationality is more important than race/ethnicity, unlike in Japan for instance.
When in Paris, I dreaded the day I had to leave. My last day there I was planning on going to the beaches at Normandy, and it was a full day trip and I did not plan ahead... much to my disappointment. I will go back in a heartbeat.
I should have gone there sooner than I did.
Beautiful country, great people, fantastic art and food. ( I copied @msc545;s comment)
I've only been to one seaside town, St Joh de Luz, when my niece wanted to take me and my girls some years ago. It's very pretty, that town. But my niece complained about the French people. I know that they think their cuisine is superb among others, but I think it's too heavy/rich with creams. I don't like to generalize but I can see how some are a little arrogant.
You have the wisdom not to generalize, because honestly, if there are arrogant people in France, I don't think it's the majority of French people.
As for French cuisine, believe me, each French region has its own culinary speciality, so you won't eat the same food if you're in the Dordogne or the Gironde, for example.
As for anecdotes, the town you visited is where Louis XIV got married.
I think it's a beautiful place and I actually want to go there someday

wonderful people and recently some demonstrated amazing humanity. beautiful but jacked up socialist mess that most like to leave. there's a reason they have gates around their houses... the socialist laws turned them into prisoners in their own homes.
there was an accident in France and local patrons dropped what they were doing to care for the injured for long time. Some people offered to provide housing and translation... jumped in to help another.
I can't really say. I don't think a lot about them one way or another. I guess I feel like French men are more feminine, and not just because of stereotypes but because I have met some in real life and they do seem somewhat soft. I also hear that Paris smells like piss all the time, and that changed my mind from ever going there.
Southern France would be the region I would find interesting. Or what they call Occitania.
France is everything it should be as a tourist! That is pretty high praise because most places don't live up to expectations.
Politically it is distressing, post election, that France has fallen into a hole when a strong France is needed. I may be misunderstanding the politics.
France is a big part of European history the French of invented many things we helped liberate France and World War II. I just wish the French people would remember that and have some respect for our country. Personally, I like French music,👍
If I ever return to Europe, then it will be France.
The south to be precise.
Wine, and sailboats :) ... ok
I've never been, but I know people who have.
People are rude, Paris is overrated, the food is good, and the South of France is apparently extremely beautiful. :).
As German neighbor I always liked Jeanette and her baguette! :-D
It's just a quote from a silly little German song. I posted it before:

France is probably pretty cool. Lots of talented fighters
Yes, i know some of the PFL guys too
Beautiful country.
Great food.
Amazing shopping.
Largely (but not totally) Xenophobic. Miserable people who don't believe in God much.
Paris is not like the rest of France.
It's a place. Food is decent. The art is fantastic.
I got the vibe that France was rather... dormant... when I visited a few years ago.
Can't really say I have much of an opinion honestly.. I don't think about France too often..
Well, Ms.. In order to have an opinion or an image, you have to think of something enough.. Not to say, I don't care about France, just that I don't think about it enough to have any specific image of it in my head..
Good potatoes, cheese, wine, and bread. I've never been there, so I don't know much. I wanted to see Notre Dame cathedral but I waited too long, damn it.
I want to visit next year.
Circling the drain, like most of the EU. Allahu Akbar!
It was beautiful. Now it is being destroyed by illegal immigrants.
I've enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery. Disfunctional government, but so is almost everywhere.
Beautiful country, great people, fantastic art and food.
sacré bleu!!
Highly positive.
🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I prefer the southern part of the country.
Arrogant people
They do think highly of themselves
That's Italians
"They do think highly of themselves"
LOL. And Indians don't?
Most Indians women definitely don’t
Women, I agree. But Indian men definitely do.
Well I think it’s because white women caress their egos and some Indian girls also say that Indian men are hotter than white men. I have seen cute white guys on Instagram and other apps who express interest in Indian women and these women say they like Indian men. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. White men not only look better but also treat their women nicely. Men like Shahrukh Khan and Virat Kohli are considered heartthrobs but women have to look like Aishwarya.
Love it, my favorite place
Good BD, I'm a fan
they suck
