Economic populism relies on an "Invisible Hand" to regulate commerce. It assumes that people want to earn money and will work towards that goal. This encourages innovation and economies of scale. Unions and other outside forces play a role as well.
Marxism the government takes private property and everyone works for the party. Taxing unrealized capital gains is the first step in seizing all private property. If everyone goes bankrupt the government can aquire everything and people will have no choice but to work for the government.
Think about this on November 5th
@OddBeMe The governement keeps getting bigger nd biggger and needs more and more money to support all the bloated salaries and benefits for employees and the waste and corruption keeps using a bigger and bigger share of resources income tax is raised because there is a lot more income than there are capital gains. And rich donors that contribute to political campaigns want low capital gains tax.
Marxism is a radical political philosophy, it has nothing to do with economic policies per se, as it implies a massive socio-philo-political transformation of the world as we know it. It cannot exist without reaching a critical point where enough people would want to shift the balance of power that holds the whole world together. It's not going to happen anytime soon lol
Well, cold war, the long term dissension between Soviet USSR and USA etc. I know about the historical fears of USA, I know how they are exploited up until now. I can't expect that to change magically, especially not in a political arena where knowledge is disregarded unless it serves a political side

They've tried raising minimum wage again and again and what has happened. No we need more jobs that aren't dependent on the service industry, industry jobs brought back from abroad, lower taxes, lower house prices etc.
A service economy doesn't work if no one can afford the service
They wouldn't because the service industry lives off the fat of the country. No manufacturung industry, no service industry
raising the minimum would incentivize employers to fire more employees, replace them with a few but extremely hard working employees or use automation instead
sure some people might benefit while the rest will go jobless
@goaded yeah you should ask Joe Biden why this is the case
@goaded ah yes. why ask Joe Biden anything then? since he clearly doesn't know how to run a country getting drive up the cost of living and force citizens into homelessness onto the streets
Democrats only support union leaders, not union workers. union leaders have no problem underpaying their workers or shipping jobs overseas for cheap labor
@goaded outright lies? you tell that to my electricity bill, my grocery receipts and my car insurance. you tell that to the homeless people on the streets I drive past every morning for work
you're full of shit, constantly playing damage control for failed Bidenomics while American citizens are suffering under this crippling economy and yet you have the audacity to accuse others of lying?
yes because my electricity provider totally knows the answers to my groceries, my car insurance, the homeless on the street etc,
Taxing unrealized gains by 50% means that even if you don't intend to sell your house for example, you're going to be taxed on it.
"... the tax would apply only to those with wealth exceeding $100 million... it would therefore only affect the wealthiest 0.01% in the country"
www.snopes.com/.../
Not to mention it would be at 25%, not 50%. What it is with the right wing and lying about the magnitude of things?
Where do you tards get the idea that minimum wage should support a family?
@Juxtapose The idea that the US can't afford things when the vast majority of the wealth of the country is concentrated in the hands of just a few people is ridiculous. It's not "can't", it's "won't".
@goaded hey man I would love for the military industrial complex and other parts of the deep state to go bye-bye but that's just not going to happen anytime soon.
Even if the United States had a complete revolution today and completely changed leadership, the deep state would come back and introduce wasteful spending again. What it would take to stop that would in my opinion be an extremely vigilant population that is hyper-aware of corruption and they react to it in a very violent manner. Then eventually the United States would be so inhospitable towards corruption, it would just not really have a chance to take root.
That or some type of incorruptible, eternal benevolent dictator such as some alien life form humanity can't do shit against.
@Juxtapose You could strt by voting against people taking billions from foreign governments.
@Juxtapose bingo.
@Juxtapose Trump took millions in money paid to his hotels, more in "business deals", overcharged the government for accommodation for his security detail, his son in law got billions to "manage" from the Saudi government.
Years of "investigation" by a House committee into Biden? Nothing.
You really have nothing but projection, do you?
Lol. Why don’t you understand basic economics?
Are you typing your bullshit on a device created by a billionaire or a fry cook at mcd’s
