As it stands, the sun (not the Greenhouse Effect, that doesn't have anywhere NEAR the power) warming the planet to levels where humans couldn't survive. All GHG and nukes could do is destroy civilization, which would leave us stranded on Earth, and taken down when the sun cooked us. Biological agents are another common option, but being lethal enough to kill humans while NOT lethal enough to burn yourself out is a VERY dicey proposition.

Nuclear war will hit a few western cities but it'll stop far short of mutual destruction. I think a sexually transmitted disease will be our downfall. Not only disease itself but the fact people will stop having sex out of fear of catching it.

Obviously you don't get out much. China and their current form of predator capitalism is so far away from communism, they couldn't see it in their rear view mirror if they tried. I have been there. North Korea is just a sick and twisted dictatorship with a personality cult. Venezuela might have several characteristics matching with communism, but at the same time at least that many that do not. The country closest dedicated to dragging communism along would be Cuba, that for whatever reason you did not mention.

I don't have to make excuses for other countries, the least of all for China. You obviously don't know what you are talking about, because as an American you don't travel, and simply go by names and labels. Chinese cities build more stylish new malls than in the United States are closing down. The CCP is still named the "Communist" party, but ever since Deng Xiaoping allowed making money as official state doctrine, it has less and less to do anymore with Marxist-Leninist planned economy.
And as a German I can compare the changes and results very easily, as for forty years we had a capitalist Germany and a communist Germany, side by side.
