what do you mean? the way i understand it works like this: you get a campaign fund for your attempt at becoming the representing party. that's what the money is spent on. if you don't end up winning, that money is still spent either way, cause you had all these expensive. how are you supposed to pay back, if the money is litterally gone?

Some of that money was donated to the DNC, and the DNC gets to keep it and spend it on the next election. After paying all the bills, she gets to keep what was donated to her. Maybe Kamala and Doug will buy a nice home in another country.
