Why are blue states sinful?

Religious morality sucks. Religious people are no fun, not that I'm into any of the things you mentioned. But I don't care of people drink, gamble, or engage in prostitution. And I am 100% in favor of sex outside of marriage even though I am 100% opposed to cheating.

when you remove moral standards passed on... then what standard is in place?

we aren't a religious country... some people are, but many are not. we still have to manage those non religious people whom will do whatever they want anyway, often turning such things into black market busineesses that are worse (more violent) when illegal. note when USA made alcohol illegal... gangs and crime and death ensued. was better to make legal and tax and control it, or so it seems. many still die... just in diff ways.
