"i cannot remember that i ever tried hard no trace of struggle can be demonstrated in my life I am the opposite of a heroic nature. Willing something, striving for something envisaging a purpose, a wish... I know none of this from experience. At this very moment I still look upon my future an ample future and as upon calm sees there is no ripple of desire. I do not want in the least that anything should become different than it is. I myself do not want to become different" Nietzsche-
That was a reading of Aphorism Nine from Nietzsche's book entitled "Ecce Homo" this specific chapter is entitled "Why I am so clever" in this telling and powerful Aphorism Nietzsche describes his becoming who he is now it may sound like a strange statement when you first hear it i mean become who you are, but the strangeness soon evaporates upon closer scrutiny Nietzsche in this aphorism touches on a theme that is recurring in his works in Latin it's called "Amor fati" or "the love of fate" he believes that in order for each of us to be happy we must first come to not only accept the hand we are dealt in life, but come to love it of course.
This does not speak to our situation in life. For example Nietzsche is not suggesting that if you happen to be born in poverty that you should accept this fact and dance with joy over it no not at all. Nietzsche wants us to come to love ourselves our strengths and our weaknesses so in this way a short man must come to love his shortness regardless of it having a disadvantage. You know here or there and in his shortness he must come to love the fact that he will never be a professional basketball player.
The same must also hold true of the opposite qualities if that short man happens to be great at abstract thought he must come to love this about himself and love the fact that it can help him be a scientist, mathematicianm or a philosopher.

You can walk away from it but it still stinks.

This is my fav quote. It's just a reminder that everyone is always constantly evolving. I think about it a lot with my kids. I get to know them at all stages and they're always changing into someone new even tho they're the same person
