I think this is something people in general do. I've been thinking a lot about this situation and situations like it in my own life where a lot of people will say the most wild, reckless and emotional shit, and I think 3 things are going on when that happens. Basically, it boils down to being socially retarded and angry.

1. People have the thing they think/know to be right and true. Instead of trying to verify that against the factual data, they look to their social group to make decisions about their ethical stances.

2. People don't know or care what an opinion or hyperbole actually are, and they don't know how to properly use those statements. They feel emotionally justified in making the statements. They don't understand/care that the fact everyone around them dislikes the methods Bobby uses to breed puppies is NOT factually the same thing as Bobby owning a puppy mill. Saying that Bobby runs a puppy mill is a VERY specific claim of fact, not an opinion. Saying someone "raped" another person is a very specific claim. There is no common parlance around the word "rape." You either forcibly engaged in intercourse or you didn't.

3. Finally, they don't understand that other people hear things out of context. The only piece of information they have to go on is what they heard you just say. So if you're out with your friends and the waitress comes up to the table; if your buddy tells the waitress that you have Autism, or some shit, she's going to believe what he says. And why wouldn't she? Not because you have some look or behavior that makes you seem autistic, but because she has no other information about you to go on. And why the fuck would someone say that another person is autistic unless it were true?

So now leftists are becoming increasingly outnumbered and (justifiably) threatened. They’re losing power. And what happens when adolescent minded people lose power? They panic, throw temper tantrums and lie when they don’t get their way.
