It is not my opinion. It was by definition (try reading a dictionary) an insurrection. I don't need talking points to be able to read a dictionary. The FBI and the DOJ did not hate Trump., though individuals in those organizations were likely smart enough to hate him. A riot is one form of insurrection. So is domestic terrorism. Those comments of yours do not mean it was not an insurrection. As for getting over it, you are the one who should do that instead of trying to whitewash what happened.

The only article that I could find that mentions that the FBI supposedly does not characterize the Jan. 6 attack as an insurrection is from the Washington Examiner, a biased conservative newspaper. What's more, it is listed as an opinion article.

The article's author uses the cambridge dictionary definition you're mocking redarrow for using to delude himself and its readers that no insurrection occured "according to the FBI".

His logic: because the FBI found scant evidence that the attack was planned and coordinated, as it was reported in other media, this means that the FBI must recognize, by default (without them saying so), based on the Cambridge dictionary's definition, that there was no 'insurrection'.

In fact, the FBI found scant evidence because they were not prepared and/or not paying attention that day, which prevented them to have a clear picture of what happened.

As far as I know, the FBI never officially and publicly recognized that Jan. 6 was not an insurrection.

That's just an assumption made by a dishonest and biased reporter.
