What do you think of the recent spate of the 'UK is a cesspit' videos trending recently?

There's a fair few of these doing the rounds. 'The UK is dying and I'm leaving' is a surefire way to get 100000's of views in the space of a day.

The main premise of the videos is that the UK is a shithole, which is obviously not news to any of us. Crumbling infrastructure, mess and squalour on the streets, petty crime, knife violence, poor economic prospects, expensive housing. The hirtherto sentence could run on and on.

I do feel the reason these get so many clicks is that they give voice and resonance to a deep sense of hopelessness and distress within the collective UK psyche. There are those in certain prevailing political quarters who want to sweep this under the carpet, and streamroll forward with their particular blend of ideology.

Is the so called West just in a deep decline? What is the cause of it?

Do you feel similar themes in your own country?

And what would sprout its renewel?

I think it's just bad decisions get exposed more today. The whole world is waiting for a country to slip up so they can take away from their economy. I think a lot of european countries just got complacent because in the past Europe was just gonna do well no matter what because there wasn't that much else going on anyway but now countries that are called 3rd world countries are way more developed and the gap isn't really that big anymore so if you don't stay on top of your game you'll be pushed down real quick.

I think countries like Germany will turn it around again sooner or later, but with the UK I'm not sure. There doesn't seem to be much belief or even initiative to understand the problems and try and adapt. There's a lot of talking but I don't know. I feel like Europe just needs to focus first on doing what's best for the economy and the people and then everything else is secondary. Because countries like China and India are not gonna sacrifice their economic competitiveness for climate change goals or anything else. They have a lot of people who want to improve their living standards and who will work very hard to do that. In the past they had no choice but to hire engineers from the west because they didn't have the knowhow yet now they have some of the best engineers in the world.

You can't rely on past advantages anymore is what I'm saying you have to take the competition seriously and do whatever it takes to stay in the game. But I'm still optimistic for continental Europe at least. I think this is just a wake up call that will be heard and things will improve again.

Switzerland will be fine either way but it would be nice to see everyone doing well :)

This is true. The problem is, those on the left are far too invested in steamrolling on with their ideology, rather than taking a step back and seeing the damage in their wake. Mass migration, green lunacy, wokery, pathological empathy and feminine values at the expense of men, the traditional protectors of a society. It just can't continue. The population is hurting, it's hurting real bad. They kind of forgot that there is a shadow side to any good you intend or any ideology you hold. By forcing people to have electric cars they simply don't want, they're making cars more expensive for the common man. Transport is not a luxury. They want to sweep the other side under the carpet.

I'm not sure this is correct. I think the problem is, most people are asleep. So all this is being allowed to happen. It should be challenged. It could be challenged with a critical mass.

So you think it is completely natural how people are jumping from random topic to be upset about to another random topic while basically forgetting all about their previous outrage?

You're making an interesting philosophical and possibly even, metaphysical point. However, I don't think that's correct. This has been bubbling away in the UK for the last 20 years. The fact that this has resurfaced, the context in which it has done so, is definitely of significance. As the person below says, the UK has become very authoritarian, the legacy media merely a government mouthpiece. It's almost as if Musk and his platform is forcing some kind of democracy, some kind of accountability. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge sceptic. And you can definitely see existence or narratives from numerous levels. Of course, we all make that choice in terms of what level of bullshit to buy and tune into.

By all means, elaborate on what you said. Cause even that could be interpreted in different ways.

My memory is not the best and quite frankly, I dont care to remember these things but I should definitely make a timeline for the far right wings "Outrage of the week". They are always upset about SOMETHING as if someone sticks their hand into a hat and pulls out a random topic once a month or a week. The most telling part is that once everyone moves on to the next outrage they dont give a crap about the previous one or even remember it.

It is quite frankly exhausting to keep up to date with the insanity but whatever, its to make a point I suppose.

Just to throw some examples up; Bidens laptop, Benghazi, rainbow bud light can, female m&m mascot redesigned to be less sexy, Q anon, Soros, Vaccines, 5G networks, Doctor Seuss becoming woke, teachers putting litterboxes in classrooms etc..

There is always SOMETHING that SOMEONE hangs out for this group of people to become upset about for a short period of time and then they switch target. This repeats again, and again, and again, and again. You probably think that this new focus onto UK is going to lead to an increase in the interest and effort to enact change. That is not at all what this is about and in a months time everyone who pretends to care today will have forgotten about it again until they circle around to it in perhaps 10 more years.

This is not normal and it is to the benefit of certain people.

Alright, I have to say, I think you're way off the mark here. Firstly, I'm presuming you're from the US. So yes, maybe this has just popped up on your feed, maybe it makes a little less sense for Americans to be getting involved. Although personally I'm thankful that Americans have gotten involved here, because there is obviously a deficit of democracy, and god knows what lands you in jail here.

Have you actually read the excerpts of some of the cases? These men, these scumbags, to give you a flavour, would use objects on these young girl's anuses, to expand it, so they could be anally raped by numerous men. We have heard instances of fathers calling the police, when their daughters were being raped, and basically being told to stop otherwise they would be arrested. We have heard that cases were dropped or not persued for the sake of 'community cohesion'. This is the most reprehensible national scandal. The symbology of this is extremely significant, also. If you read any history, invaders plunder and rape. The powers that be put their wretched ideology before the good of the nation's children. Any charity workers, former police officers, whistleblowers, victims, we've heard talking on this, suggest this is endemic. It is still going on. It has happened in every fucking town and city. It has been going on since the 1970s at least.

As for the right wing getting outraged at every turn. Whatever. Alright, fine you can conflate the legimate and the absurd, it's the BBC and left wing tactic, let's face it. But that's exactly what happens. If you don't take people's concerns seriously, when you just want it your way, to be driven by an ideology. When you don't listen to people. Then yes, people are fucking angry, upset, annoyed. There is something seething away under the surface. The people are broken. They have had enough. It is not okay. Keep trying to sweep it under the carpet though.

Now, if you're making the point, the wider point, that it's not good for any person to get swept up in media narratives, for the sake of their own wellbeing. Well I do agree with that.

But still, let's call a spade a spade. In the name of all that is righteous, of what is left that is good and moral in this fucking stupid world.

To start off with, yes I do understand peoples frustrations and the situation they are in. The problem is that just because they experience something does not mean that it is true. There will be poor people in a booming economy, sick people in a well funded healthcare state and its hardly a unheard of for people to be convinced of things that were never true.

I am fully prepared to believe that people are hurting and that they demand change. But I am not prepared to believe that they know why or that they have the solution to their problems. History is full of examples where humans have been hurt and demanded change while fighting for the wrong cause. I wish people in groups did not have this problem but history tells us that we do.

That is why I can't listen to the demands of people when they are clamoring for change, because they are very unlikely to know why and very likely to be mislead by someone whispering "the truth" in their ears. They are like a wounded animal lashing out even when all we want to do is help them.

As for the rape-gang situation, I am somewhat aware of it since its often brought up as an argument against "wokism" and whatever. The problem is that its not really true as portrayed. The argument put forward is generally that immigrants such as those from Pakistan comes over to the UK and rape children on a systematic level while the local government refuses to act against them due to not wanting to be seen as discriminating against their ethnicity or whatever.

This is not a true representation of reality. Most of the rape gangs are from white British people. Secondly these cases are rare and while many displayed issues within the legal and bureaucratic system, it is not for the reasons that people think and does not display an actual collapse in society or justice system as a whole. There are major problems in both, this is not it. And quite frankly, the UK police has mostly wrapped up these issues since a few high profile cases brought them up.

What the rape gang situation is however is the perfect "rage bait". It makes people ANGRY and builds a sense of a need for action. Just like all the other topics of "rage bait" that is being thrown around.

But to prove that this is artificial, just keep this in your mind. In another month or two people will have moved on to the next rage bait and have completely abandoned the UK rape gangs. Nothing will be done, nobody will be moved to action and aside from just serving to make people emotional and easily manipulated, nothing would actually have changed. The people were simply directed to pay attention to this issue because it would upset them, that is all.

I think you've illustrated my point. The reason people get angry is because of people like you. It didn't happen, squash it down, it doesn't accord with my ideology, gaslighting.

Quite possible. But is that anger justified?

Any political system is still the government of a society of 'all'.

If any side is quashed because it doesn't fit within a certain ideology that is trying to be espoused, then this creates a sense of resentment within that community of the ignored.

See covid as an example. They tried to push a very extreme narrative and propagate fear. They should have told the fat bastards to 'jog for victory'. 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity a day and some caloric restriction would have done infinitely more for the nation's health than a corruped system's squalid medical interventions.

I mean, let's not go there. We aren't going to agree.

I take your broader point about being mindful of how outrage is created to meet a certain agenda. Attention is currency and power.

Getting groups of people emotionally agitated is generally not a good thing in a democracy. In fact it tends to be how democracies die.

This is not about crushing my opposition because it does not fit within a certain ideology. Its about attempting to steer the country away from a really dangerous path.

The north kirklees is the latest to break and they've only been convicted from 1999-2012, that doesn't include up to 2024. The various men involved in Rotherham, Rochdale and elsewhere only served half their sentence. So rather that 346, it will be more like 173 combined years if not less.

"Asuk Hussain (53) from Dewsbury was jailed for 11 years at Leeds Crown Court on Friday July 13.

His was the latest sentencing for Operation Tourway, a multi-year investigation into the non-recent sexual exploitation of young females in North Kirklees.

Hussain was sentenced after previously being found guilty of an offence of rape committed against a victim who was only 13 when the incident took place in the Kirklees area in 2004.

Leeds Crown Court heard that Hussain had seen the victim in her school uniform prior to the incident, and took advantage of her when she was in need of a place to stay. "

Asuk Hussain will serve 5 years in prison and be out in 2030 if not sooner.
