Anyone who works the adult entertainment business will tell you that with so much competitive pressures, so many doing this. It takes a thick skin and tirless effort to really make money at it. They earn it. There are lots of pretty people in the world lots of competition. Significant social and personal risks. I'd say they are working hard for the money.
