Is a country where anyone can shoot anyone safe?

Contrary to what the media and some politicians would have you believe, the US is pretty safe. The news, almost by definition, is the exception, not the rule. The US has been getting safer and safer for the last 35-40 years.

In the summer I don't close the door to my house at night. I can easily go 2-3 months without closing it completely. I never lock my car either.

To stay safe in the US:

1) Stay away from the worst 1% of the country, and stay in the other 99%.
2) Don't join violent drug gangs.
3) Don't get drunk at rough bars and pick fights.
4) Don't marry a violent drunk.

It's all about where you are, what area you are in. I lived long time and never had problem couldn't handle.

Look at demographics and such in the area and pick safe areas that are chinese/indian/white... christian or jewish. probably going to be ok there.

Yeah, the U. S is generally a safe place aside from a few close to "Third World" pockets.. Even in big cities.. Could be better, but it's not terrible..

Yeah, shootings are pretty rare in comparison to the huge population of the U. S.. Despite the fact that we have guns here, there are people who have never heard a shot in their lives.. And you know what they say, an armed society is a polite society.

Most places in my country are peaceful and safe. But, like most countries, there are a minority of places that are not. USA.

Despite what people may see in the media America isn't as bad as they make it look. I love it here and I absolutely feel safe here
