Nicholson's rant was some of the best acting in history.
He's always been my favorite actor. Number one on my list. I can't think of a single standout actor these days, it's a lost art.
I rather liked Bruce Willis. ***sniff***
He never really appealed to me much, but I do feel sorry for the condition that he's in.
I'd say Al Pacino might be number two on my list.
I read about what Nicholson is doing with his life now and it also sounds kind of sad. He's sort of out of it. Don't know whether that's a result of his strange personality or whether he developed that strange personality by acting the strange parts over so many years. He gained a ton of weight and looks fat as hell. That can't be healthy.
Denzel does stand out. He does good and bad guys equally well and uses race lightly, like in Mag 7 when he introduced the Chinese knife fighter as his manservant and gets a baleful glare from him.
He's also 87. :-(
Denzel is on my list. Always liked him.
Yes he's 87. Sad to think about. It definitely won't be any more movies. He's just been in so many amazing parts. He draws these characters out of who knows where. You can tell it's just something inside him that can relate. I've never seen him in anything where he wasn't fantastic. The depth that he portrays is just beyond anything I've ever seen other actors do. He sells it so well.
And Clint just keeps lumbering along... just more slowly.
He was also great in a different kind of way that is on my list.
There have been different generations of actors. I guess you could go all the way back to biblical times because they had actors too. I guess we each tend to relate to the ones in our own generation even if they suck. And I'm very likely biased about the ones I grew up with but I really can't imagine how you can compare any of the actors of today's generation with the actors of the '60s and '70s. It just makes no sense to me. I just feel that it's a lost art.
Bernie needs to retire in the Next couple hundred years.
I don't agree with him but I like him anyway. He's like the guy who ran the deli when I was a kid.
