if he says it and it grows its not a lie. so it won't grow, but then that be a lie, so it'll have to grow, but that's a truth.

Pinocchio nose didn't grow with each sentence he told. It only grew on telling lie. "Nose will grow" is half truth. Also it's not lie because absolutely nose will grow if he lie.

Also lie means something we know but still we choose to say against what we know. But what we don't know and that we assume something and say that, then it isn't a lie. But it's just a guess that happened to be false but it's not a lie.

That's why, on telling that sentence Pinocchio nose won't grow. Because it's not a lie but only a assumption proven false.

A false statement isn't the same as an intentional lie. The act of deceiving is the curse.

he says "my nose will grow when I say I'm 10 feet tall." And that is a true statement. So nothing happens but let it sit and say it again "I'm 10 feet tall." His nose will grow.
