Where does the myth that it was Russia alone that defeated Napoleon come from?

Napoleon tried to conquer many countries.
He wanted an empire. Similar to hitler.
That being said, no country in history can do that. I was in the infantry so I’m familiar with the concepts of battle and war.
If any country wages war against another country, they will certainly take casualties.
At the beginning is when the aggressor will have the most man power, equipment, military strength in general.
With each conflict that will be diminished, and how much depends on their superiority over each country and the other country’s personal military training and capabilities.
Napoleon got taken out the same way the nazi regime did. They picked a fight with too many countries and then collectively those countries destroyed both empires.
Comparison is not reason, and even less so when it comes to the situation in Napoleonic times, which seems to escape all historical nuance for most people
I'd like to point out that during the war of the first coalition, France actually had no advantage, because France at that time was economically ruined, practically in a global civil war between supporters of the monarchy and the republic.
What's more, many people seem to have forgotten the conquests of other countries during the same period, or even just before the French Revolution.
Because that's where the war turned retard. Napolean marched on Russia with over a half million men and got his shit pushed in. The economic blockades by England and the rebellions in Spain were not what turned the coarse of the war. It was Napolean's blunder in Russia which lead to France getting steamrolled and ultimate surrender.
What myth? It's long been accepted it was a coalition that brought him down. I think we have to take anything coming from Russia or America at present with a pinch of salt and just assume it's fake until proven otherwise.
Spread a lie loud and long enough and people start to believe it.

Believe it or not Russian propaganda just like how they claim THEY defeated the Nazi's. Bullshiting Sukas it's nice seeing Ukraine take them down a peg as well as nearly 900,000 of them. Fewer Russians means fewer violent abusive alcoholic sociopaths. I see it as pest control at this point.
@Pet68 Ah another Tanki slobbering on the cock of Putis propaganda empire. No helping ignorance I'm afraid go ahead and sympathize with your little snow monkeys it doesn't change that Russia is a dead end nation that will never recover from this. They could conquer all of Ukraine today and achieve every war goal and between the damage to the economy and population loss they're still a doomed nation. Every time a Russian soldier dies the world becomes a better place Slava Ukraine.
Look, instead of just insulting me like a spoilt child, how about actually providing a bit of EVIDENCE for the claims you've made here? Would that be too hard for you?
I don't like Putin, I never did, from the moment he seized power back in 2000. Regardless of which side in this conflict you happen to be on, "Ukraine" is doomed. It's just a matter of time, a question of when not if.
@Pet68 If you believe this it means you're so far down the BS rabbit hole no sources, I showed you would be good enough. I've had this argument a dozens of times and they always have some excuse that Russia is a great dangerous bear that's going to conquer Ukraine and become a global superpower.
Do you know what the Ruble is worth as of time of righting this? 0.011 of one American dollar. That's less than a cent. Google it if you don't believe me it's that easy to fact check. Does that sound like an economy that will ever recover?
Total Russian casualties killed or wounded as of today are 882,950 wounded or killed estimate by the Ukrainian government and yes I'm aware of the bias but to give you an idea of how credible the numbers are the US government is low balling and they say it's at least 115,000 killed, 500,000 wounded since 24 February 2022 – 10 October 2024 and UK estimate were 700,000 wounded and killed still low balling in 24 February 2022 – 10 November 2024.
@Pet68 They're using Donkeys to transport supplies, and the soldiers have to pay for them themselves. They're using horses in Calvery charges like it's the first world war and sending in what are becoming known as "Crutch Battalions" Where they take wounded some literally on crutches and tell them to charge. That way they kill the cripples and expose their position so the Russians can bomb it and send in their "Real" troops Russians are meat to Putin these vids were posted by Russian soldiers on Russian social media!
I'm going to post my sources bellow but beyond that I've wasted enough time already. If you changed your mind you'd be the first Tankie I ever met to pull their head out of their ass which is why I have so little patience and can't even bother to be polite when someone praises the snow chimps.

God, what rubbish, what utter tosh. Donkeys to move supplies? LOL You must think I'm an idiot, and whatever happened to those "mobile crematoriums" we heard so much about at the beginning of the war? You know, how apparently Russia was incinerating its own dead soldiers on the battlefield in order to cover up their losses. I suppose you fell for that silly lie too. :D
Then of course there was the 'Ghost of Kiev', LOL :D
You probably believed that too.
@Twalli The Russian's were getting their Suka asses kicked until the allies launched a counterattack. The only reason Hitler didn't conquer Russia was poor timing and the allies attack from the west causing so much panic the eastern front collapsed, and the soviets FINALLY started pushing them back.
The Russians are the guys in a call of Duty lobby who claim they were the tipping factor in the match even though they are tenth on the score board with a fraction of the kills everyone above him has. The Russians just sent walls of meat in a tide of blood until the eventually barely drowned out the Germans while the allies did most of the work. The absolute most credit Russia deserves for WW2 is a participation trophy.
Never heard that before. I don't recall Russia at Trafalgar or Waterloo. Those were making losses that altered the war. We also had other things like The Lines of Torres Vedras, where Russha was not there at all either. Russia probably defeated Napoleon's Eastern Front, but that wasn't the entire army.
I suppose people like one simple explanation. There is a certain amount of hubris in it that appeals to all that even the great can make fatal errors of judgement.
I don't know. I'm a historian and first I'm hearing it. Everyone knows Russia didn't do it alone.
It may stem from the German's defeat by Russia in World War II, which is likened to Napoleon's similar defeat by Russia due to the same harsh Russian winter. If Russua defeated the Germans, then they must also have defeated Napoleon.
Yes, other nations that defeated France were Spain, Prussia and England. It was a combination of nations that brought him down.
I'm more interested in the psychology of the french people, claiming they want liberty, killing their king (because he was stupid enough to let a mob arrest him, telling his loyal guard to hold their fire), and then rallying behind a despot like Napoleon
Its just where the war turned and it was his blunder that lead to his defeat and major losses of his army
Not sure that anyone says they solely did it, but they played a large part in it. Same with Hitler.
why are you so obsessed with talking about France
She's French
@KostasKouvalis makes sense they are obsessed with themselves
Most of us already know about it now its about America get over yourself
From what I understand, you've seen my questions several times now, and you seem to be getting tired of them. No problem with that, just block me, and you won't see my questions anymore. So I don't know why you're getting so upset here.
And I've already asked several questions about America.
You can't take criticism can you
Hate is a strong word you act immature and easily offendedlol
I don't see where I get offended here. And it doesn't seem to me that my answer is full of anger.
Once again I don't really understand what you're looking for with your comments. As I said you have the right to hate or dislike my content. And you can block me and you won't see my questions anymore.
But I have the impression that you like looking for trouble for nothing.
People just not studying history in depth.
Where do you think? Soviet Propaganda.
Russia. Napoleon was defeated by France...
