Do you agree with them that Trump/Republicans are only out for the rich oligarchs? They are getting tax breaks while the rest of us cannot afford to put food on our tables. People can't afford child care, if they can even find it, the rising costs of everything and having Medicaid gutted that many people depend on for their health care, and maybe Social Security too. The rich don't worry about where or when their next paycheck will come, or if it will come. Meanwhile they live in their big mansions with their kids in the best private schools and colleges and haven't a worry about what will happen tomorrow except what time their golf match will be. Sanders should have been elected in 2016... and he would have been if the female-led Democratic Establishment weren't obsessed with anointing Hillary Clinton so we'd have the first female President. By 2016, the outsider populist candidate was going to win. Clinton wasn't that but Trump was which is why he did so well that primary season and became the GOP candidate. The DNC and Dem Establishment just refused to see that. While Clinton was better than the lying clown of Trump, she was a populist and was a flawed candidate. Sanders was the real deal. He would have won in particular because he was energizing young voters. But the DNC and Dem Establishment did what they could to prevent by altering primary rules and such.

Other countries might be controlled by the rich. But no I don't believe for a minute that the rich control the US government. There is no evidence of that.

Of course people in Congress are millionaires. It's a good paying job, and should be. As a matter of fact, the pay is low considering their background and the job they have. Being a millionaire or even a multi-millionaire is not that much these days. Anyone with a STEM degree can do that. If someone with a STEM job isn't a millionaire by the time they retire, they are doing something very wrong.

As for my social security and medicare, I'm not the least bit concerned about it.

This is just plain wrong. The rich pay WAAAAAAY more taxes than every other income level. They pay way more in absolute dollars, and way more as a percentage.

This is publicly available information that you can look up at the IRS. They don't give names, but they give a lot of information on how much tax people of different income levels pay.

The idea that the rich don't pay taxes, or pay very little tax, is an outright lie. It's just not true.
