1 ytRump is a mentally ill, fat, lazy, ignorant, stupid, racist, and bully. He craves acceptance and legitimacy. But he had to cheat his way through school and he's failed constantly in any legitimate business he's been involved in. He stiffs contractors and banks. He lies constantly. He's never done the work to learn anything about anything.
What does he mean by "Make America Great Again"? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The phrase is marketing to the filth of America. Old, stupid White failures who are disenfranchised and living on the fringe of society in ignorance, and Christian superstition. tRump recognized their fear and hate so, he took advantage of it. He targeted their White privilege and promised to give them a White Christian homeland in some vague promise of a 1950's America where non whites were invisible and a pre Civil War country where White men were in charge by law, women didn't "need" to vote, and nonwhites were forbidden to vote.
It's a classic Fascist principle. Find stupid people, their fears, and give them some other group to hate. Exploit their hate and fears. Promise to make all their fears go away quickly along with the scapegoated "other's" by using force and violence. Make the promises vague and simple. The stupid people won't ask for details.
Does anyone other than imbeciles really expect this lazy moron and pathological liar to make anything better for anyone other than himself?

@Amy10223 ,
Nah, tRump is a butthurt little boy. He has desperately wanted to be accepted in the elite New York society of Financial Services... investment banking, private equity, hedge funds. he wants the status. He wants recognition.
But tRump has been laughed at and excluded by those people his entire adult life. Those people see him for what he is, a loud, crude, bully, imbecile, man-baby, and pathological liar. He's been shunned by the people he craves validation from.
That's why he lies about his wealth and business achievements. He wants to be recognized as a "cool kid". Instead the "cool kids" laugh at him and give him wedgies when they ban him from polite society. It's the source of a lot of his anger. He's humiliated himself his entire life. It kills the malignant narcissist in his personality.
This is pretty well known history in the Manhattan financial services community of elites. - 1 y

One Viewpoint why are you attacking me? My views are almost identical to yours for christs sake, and unless I misread something I've never said anything against you.

I knew you weren't attacking me. I was just joking with you about being turned on by tRump BECAUSE we are obviously aligned in our disgust of that defective piece of shit. Sorry if that joke didn't land right. - 11 mo

1 yI didn’t live through it but the 50s was a big boom time. Lots of houses being built for the soldiers that came back from WWII. Lots of babies being born. Crime was minimal. When a criminal was caught they were not released on bail…. They were jailed. Murderers were given the death penalty (which made it a big incentive NOT to kill).
Today… criminals are arrested 30-40 times and they are still out on the streets. People can’t afford a house, people can’t afford children.
Think about it, in the 50s the wife stayed home…. Why? Because a husband’s income was enough to have a house, a car , food and living expenses, plus a road trip type of vacation once a year.
It’ll never be like that again BUT…. Trump can do something about the crime, he can try to bring down energy costs which can bring down the costs of other things. He has already got companies bringing back manufacturing jobs. And throughout history it’s those types of jobs that fueled the middle class.313 Reply- 1 y
You really think all these billionaires today made their money by making things better for you? If you do read no further as you are a hopeless fool.
Those great days you speak of disappeared from the greed and dishonesty of these filthy rich moguls who only think about themselves.
Show me two companies coming back to the US? Everything trump does is to help his and his buddies bottom line and you will pay for it. - 1 y
@BadApple69 The 50s schools were still segregated for black people, they had to endure racist violence in the south in particular, and endure Jim Crow laws. The 50s were only great for white people back then. That's what Trump wants.
- 1 y
@Friendlybro79 Well that's fascinating because you're still segregated
- 1 y
@Cuminginside trolling me now?
- 1 y
@Friendlybro79 No actually is a reality check I was taking a vacation the other day to Florida somewhere by the beach you know typical cliche anyway what I saw was frightening I was in there place pizza place next to a church or something like that so I'd go there to decompress and then there's a grocery store up the block I forgot the name of it I think it's called public something another So anyway the sheriff's deputies were over the place It was spring break lots of minority kids were out there 20 50 of them at a time and the cops were guarding their front door They told people if you're not 18 or with a parent go back Let me see your ID Now you're not 18 go back. I never see such a thing in my life and these hood rats better learn real quick and you think That's tough that Chinese from a block away already know who you are either you're a good person or you don't have enough credits which means lock you out of society these people better learn fast society may not have the money to lock them up because the incarceration is expensive but they will find ways to lock you out of society and that's not fun. Either tighten up or get turn loose to the streets
- 1 y
@Cuminginside I genuinely and unfortunately don't understand what point you're trying to make.
- 1 y
@Friendlybro79. Well segregation has come back under the Biden administration when collages started to have “safe places” for blacks…. Isn’t that segregation? Everything wasn’t great in the 50s I was mostly talking about the economy and that fact that you could live very well with one salary. Under Biden I had to work 3 jobs to keep the standard of living I wanted.
- 1 y
It wasn't just under Biden that you needed more than one salary. It's been like this my entire life and I am just about the same age as you. It's not segregation to keep people safe that are unsafe otherwise. You're not comparing apples to apples at all. The 50s were great for white America that's it. How about you peel it back further and make America great again like before women could vote or slaves were allowed? The slogan is awful and anyone who thinks Trump is for them you've been swindled. My 401k was never higher under Biden and it's losing more and more under Trump.
- 1 y
You Magalites all talk about TDS but your BDS is insane. The guy isn't president anymore. You can't blame him for 50 years of trickle down failing and corporate America and billionaires buying politicians. To be fair this is a problem on the left and the righ
- 1 y
Under Biden we had the highest inflation in 45 years. And yes I always worked two jobs but during the Biden admin I picked up a third to keep from falling in debt. $2 gas under Trump went up to $4.50 here where I live. And as for BDS…. Biden wasn’t in charge… no one knows who was actually in charge.
- 1 y
How are things now? They're shit. They're worse than when Biden was in office. inflation is even higher now than Biden and the stock market is tanking. Stay in the present.
- 1 y
Regardless of who is in power, it takes time to undo the “changes” of the last administration. As an example 3 years into the Biden administration they were still blaming things that were going bad on Trump. A couple of weeks ago the left was screaming about the price of eggs. Yes egg prices were high… Trump was getting blamed in the news, but no where in the news were they talking about the millions of egg laying chickens the Biden administration killed in November and December. Do you think that might have affected egg prices? Egg prices now have dropped by a lot. You say “stay on present” but you need to know your history so you have a reference point.
- 1 y
you're all over the place in conversation and blaming Biden for the avian flu. You can't eat eggs that will get people sick. Egg prices are neither of their fault trump or Biden. Trump did however say on day 1 he was going to fix egg prices end the war in Ukraine etc. He is a liar. I agree things take time. But Biden left him with a great economy. Lying about inflation and solely blaming him which when he took over Covid was causing supply chain issues worldwide. With the time you say trump needs Biden also needed and did in fact get inflation under r control. Better here than mostly anywhere else in the world. Ok listen I'm done chatting on this Trump made promises that by day 2 were completely broken. You can't take him at his word for anything. I do hope he does good because we're depending on him. I see nothing from this administration that is going to benefit anyone but his wealthy friends.
people never say what they mean entirely. wait what am i tryna say here well lemme back up some. Trump is saying he will make america great notice he does not say for you or for the people but just that he will make it great. every person has one reality or another if you put 5 people in a room and 3 say they are happy and 2 are not and the 2 who are not are going to be removed and taken away everyone is content ideally my interpretation of this is trump is gonna remove unwanted people then undesireables then lastly anyone who is not content so that when he becomes dictator only the people who love him will be around and then well america will be great to them fulfilling what he has promised

1 yThis is a great question. When he says great again, I have asked my friends and family that support him to explain this and they usually can't.
I ask do you again before the civil rights movement, before women could vote, before slavery was abolished, or before we desimmated the natives?
As an American, for the first time in my life, I'm not proud of my country. Most countries have dark pasts, but with time we evolve, and become better human beings to each other. I've always been proud that good people in this country will fight for the disadvantaged, and things like racism, although always here, had been less of for the generations before it.
I always dreamed that one day my friends that weren't lucky enough to be born white would be able not experience the genuine hatred they've experienced at times just for being black or brown. It was worse for their parents and their Grandparents but it's ridiculous it's still happening today. Probably because I'm white, and don't experience racism, I naively thought it was at an all time low around 2015.
Then Maga formed and all these bigots and racists found a voice through Trump. He uses these people as a distraction to do what he really wants which is to keep himself out of prison and bring tax breaks for the ultra rich at the expense of the American people.

1 yIt's subjective. Some would say the Jim Crowe era was the greatest. Others would say it was the "cultural revolution".
For me, it was the 90s. Maybe not so much economically, but in terms of culture and laws. And it was already technologically advanced, but not too much. And pre-911 TSA.
For one he said he wanted America to lead the world in science and research, which I would strongly support. When he said that, for a brief moment in a long time, I actually felt proud to be an American. But we still have a long way. Majority of Americans don't respect things like that and have different priorities. What would really need to change is our culture.
He also said he wants to combat the gang, drug and homeless crisis and end all this affirmative action and pride bullshit.
He is cracking down on immigration and gangs as well as all the affirmative action and pride stuff, but he isn't doing much for the economy and seems more concerned with changing names and trolling other countries. Although him threatening Panama did get results. But he should focus a little more on the economy and job market.
20 Reply 910 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nope. The household debt right now in the U. S. is 96% of what it was in 2008 before the financial crisis if you adjust for inflation. If not it's already way over. So Americans can't afford a trade war at all. I mean like the bottom 90% of americans. But a fascistic leader always needs an enemy, a distraction because they never improve people's quality of life. If they don't have someone to point fingers at they will get kicked out soon. But starting a fight with the whole world was not a clever move. All it's doing is helping China gain influence and soft power and telling allies they can't trust the U. S.
We'll see how it goes but so far it's only gone downwards.

1 yDe-globalization - Bring back manufacturing so we are more secure financially, economically. Frankly... Biden was doing similar, but not as drastic.
Re-affirm christian and family values roots - big shift from prior
Return to the roots that hard work gets you somewhere, not your color/sex etc. - big shift
Improve world standing by improving finances - this is like a backfire from a sports car.
...
It's a big shift from WWII policy of USA being the $ and control power. That has ended, we are shifting focus inwards. That means chaos for other countries to fill in the gap, and other powers step in and re-align.
I think in short it's Make China Greater policy, if they can find other markets to expand.

1 yI'll answer your question: " Do you think Trump will really make America great again?" Tell me when it was great the "first" time? So my answer is "no".
I'll answer your question: "what does he mean when he says that?" It's a catchy slogan that sounds patriotic and implies that he can fix whatever you perceive the problem to be. What I believe he means is he'll make it a place where white oligarchs rule over everyone else, and ignorance is bliss.
30 Reply 5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. We have a single mono political party for millionaires. It's partisan by those who might do lip service avoiding a French revolution of riots and the other partisan just double down hoping the voting population is so stupid they get what they deserve.
40 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. He'll make America GRATE again not the GREAT most people assume. He will bring the machine of productive enterprise down to a grinding halt through throwing tantrum spanners into everything vaguely competent so the state looks like it is in a state. That way he can allow his chums (the rich and billionaire classes of corrupt exploiters of human capital) to come in a scoop up all the poorly functioning and weak apparatus of statehood for their own access to taxpayers money.

@katiesmuff and did you not see the 20 something planes Trump sent of Venezuela full of illegal immigrants?

- 1 y
@BonzoInBitburg do you expect the illegals who’ve been deported to walk or swim back to their countries?
- 1 y
A few planes are hardly making a dent in the problem so it's an expensive way to solve nothing. The bigger story today is the markets and all the layoff announcements. Trump tanking the economy might solve illegal immigration.
- 1 y
@BonzoInBitburg again our safety comes first. Trump wants to deport all the cockroaches that crawled into our country illegally to stop them from terrorizing first before fixing the economy.
