What do you think Trump promised Qatar?

TRUMP has real estate ventures in the whole region Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Also TRUMP has Saudi backed LIV Golf Tournaments from outside and inside The White House from deals made in his first term.
I remember when TRUMP showed some balls with Koshaggis’ assassination by vowing to be harsh on The Prince…. Only to meet with him recently and butter him up with praise after praise after praise after more praise.
TRUMP claimed his Administration (the first go around) found proof of Saudi Arabia being behind the Koshaggi killing and they would be harsh, NOT. WHOOPS!
Pam Bondi before being TRUMP’s good girl, she worked for QATAR!!! It is all connected!!!
Note: Pam Bondi defended the Jet Deal, saying what did Trump have to gain? Therefore it is just a gift and we should move on…. She worked for QATAR!!! And her boss is her boss so, why would she be critical?
The paid lobbyist for Qatar is signing off on the $400 million "gift" from Qatar. How convenient!
@DryGermanGuy Pam Bondi sure is, didn’t actually know she was in charge of signing off on the “gift”. Thought someone with a brain would be in there, though makes sense since Trump fired them all.
I will add she made $1 million in insider trading thanks to Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ so she definitely benefits from this. Forgot to mention a little fact that the jet isn’t going to be Air Force One, it will be given to Trump once he leaves office for his “Presidential Library”.
A mix of the two: "Cuh-Tar" always made the most sense to me, and it lines up with the Arabic pronunciation. "Cutter" always sounded strange, but it's an anglicized adaptation of that Arabic pronunciation.
As for what Trump got; Middle Eastern diplomacy is famous for lavishing each other with gifts to show good will. It's even a common practice in Middle Eastern households to bring a small gift of food to thank someone for simply welcoming you into their home.
It's entirely possible that they just offered to give him the plane to butter him up for future negotiations.
@goaded Hmm... I think I would take that bet, yes.
And to answer your other question: I don't think American politics should work on bribes, I think it's a horrible and corrosive element of our system. But I also think that it happens and has been happening, so flagrantly for decades, that we shouldn't act like the Qataris behavior is somehow unusual.
@goaded Actually, it has been happening for decades. Centuries, even. diplomacy.state.gov/item-theme/diplomatic-gifts/
And anyway, the Qataris gave their gift to the United State government, not specifically to Trump.
What's important is that it would be hundreds of millions of dollars of bribes for a Qatari jet.
Read the official report. web.archive.org/.../...nterim%20Report%20FINAL.pdf
"The Trump White House failed to report over a hundred foreign gifts given to the President and the First Family above the reporting threshold, including some gifts valued at thousands of dollars. While the White House reported some foreign gifts to the State Department from 2017 through 2019, it did not report all foreign gifts received during this time. Former President Trump and the First Family failed to report more than 100 foreign gifts with a total value of over a quarter of a million dollars.
"The unreported foreign gifts include gifts from President Xi Jinping of China, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, and other foreign government officials. The Committee’s investigation revealed that the Trump family received 17 gifts from Saudi Arabia—with a total value of more than $48,000—that were not reported to the State Department. The discovery of these unreported foreign gifts raises significant questions about why former President Trump failed to disclose thesegifts to the public, as required by law."
Time will tell if I'm right about the other stuff. I never claim to have any special insights!
About you? I can't think of too many... Anything I've ever claimed about you has been a direct result of things I directly observed you say and do. That is; you say X on one question, so I claim you said X on a different one.
I try not to read into intent and that kind of thing, unless there is a pretty strong pattern of behavior.
That's how I process most of our arguments. Partisan warfare, mostly done in jest, with the part that isn't in jest done for reasons of ego, boredom and mental illness.
And I worry about your's, dear friend! And I worry about your's...
I'd feel better if TV people weren't the less undesirable options... I'm actually genuinely surprised that out of a country of 350 Million people, this is the best we can do in terms of representation. It's pretty pathetic.
I didn't realize you'd sent me anything more, but this graphic is misleading for a number of reasons. Notice how the Trump and Biden lines hug each other until the 4th year. (1.) Biden's growth occurred coming out a pandemic, which is necessarily a low production point. (2.) GDP is a reflection of dollar per citizen output; more inflation means more dollars, but not necessarily a healthier economy. (3.) The GDP output wasn't reflected in the wage increases during the Biden years, which means that people in the real world weren't receiving the benefits of the purported economic growth. www.statista.com/.../
Trump's economies tend to confer benefits directly to the workers. This is a link to a Google AI search query I did to ask to "define a good economy." docs.google.com/.../edit?usp=sharing If we go by the metrics listed here; Biden's economy was not particularly robust.
Can't be good. The maga cult is still crying about Biden taking bribes, because some guy who was convicted of lying to the FBI said so. Suddenly they have no complaints about this lol. Cults are amazing!
His fourth presidency? He assumes he'll be dead by then and planning ahead.

It's definitely not "Cat-ar"... The pronunciation is close to "cutter" it's actually "Ka-Ta". The country of Qatar actually comes from the Greek Kata and Ara meaning accursed or doomed ones (Katar, Katara, Kataria) as recorded by Pliny the Elder a Roman scholar and author in the first century. They worshiped an evil pagan god. Then later Ptolemy a Greek geographer recorded the name as Qatara in the second century. Then all the way in the fifth century Greek historian Herodotus refereed to the location as Qatar.
The accepted English pronunciation is "kuh-TAR". "Kuh-TER" is also acceptable.
The exact Arabic pronunciation is challenging for English speakers to reproduce accurately.
For clarity and ease of communication, using "kuh-TAR" is generally recommended.
Now, according to a native Arab speaker who posted on Reddit:
"As an Arab the way it's properly said is ca-ta-r (roll the r). It's soft short "a" in ca and ta. This is why they spell it Was. Also no emphasis on "tar" at all. There is no emphasis on any part of the word. In English I've heard it pronounced tons of ways but the one most close to how it should be said is ka-tar.
Whatever he promised them, it will be a lie. Probably weapons or protection against some foes if war breaks out.
You're wrong about the pronunciation, as you are about most things. It's pronounced CUH-tar.
Qatar has recognized it's smarter to be an ally of the US than an enemy. Trump probably promised them that if the play fair and don't support terrorist organization, they will be treated as an ally and not an enemy. I'm sure you would like to believe it's something more sinister.
Don't they all?
He did not promise them anything. What I want to know is how does Boeing get away with breach of contract by not fulfilling their contract to build 2 Air Force One airplanes.
Trump renegotiated the AF1 contract early in his first term. I heard the contract was finally signed in 2018. That was 7 years ago. Those planes have not been built. I think that after 4 years of crushing inflation during the Biden administration , Boeing would lose millions of dollars if they built those planes. I do not think they have any intention of fulfilling the contract and never should have gotten the contract for the F-47.
How do YOU know that Trump promised ANYTHING? Is that what CNN tells you?
If I were him I'd be real nervous about accepting gifts from anyone, as likely most of the world would like to see him gone.
nothing, he exerts enough power around they'll give him stuff to stay off the sh#1 list. possibly a favorable deal for weaponry be my guess, some favoritism around oil prices or a huge purchase to restock the strat petrol reserve, etc..
cat air promising me a plane to use all of the time is one that i would never use until it's stripped down to the last bolt.
To let them keep funding Hamas so his authoritarian fascist buddy Bibi can have a pretext for genocide & annexation.
Seems obvious
Get out of free cards for assassinations, just like the Saudis got.
circumtances to make you bitch your life away in this site more often... like you already been doing
" He knows his employers." Yep. Patriotic Republicans.
All leftists…….
Nothing. It was a GIFT!!
The statue of Liberty was a gift!
So, what are they asking for?
How come you had no problem with it when Joey told someone to fire another guy or he wouldn't give him the money they wanted? Or when Russia and China paid his kid millions of dollars to do nothing of any importance?
AMERICA!!
both pronunciations are recognized...
He's whooing them away from China.
A lifetime supply of spicy pickles.
