Are Kurds and Turks the same thing?

No. Turks originate from Central Asia. Kurds are an Iranian people and are closely related to Iranians, namely Persians. For example, Kurds and Iranians are related peoples, like the Irish and Scots. Only in Türkiye, Kurds are the most populous ethnic group after the Turks. Turkey is a country with many ethnic structures. Turks, Kurds, Georgians, Lazs, Circassians, Albanians, Bosnians, Bulgarians, etc. All of these ethnic groups define themselves as Turkish citizens. My father nationality was Turkish, My mother nationality is Turkish, Laz, Georgian
Sorry. My father was etnichy is Turkish and my mother nationality is Turkish, Laz, Georgian. But we are Turkish citizens.
I use to google translate
They share the same geographic origins. But have different histories and cultures. Turks have a national and a cultural identity. The Kurds have no nation so they only identify with their culture. Everything east of the mediterranean shares this same problem after 200 years of colonialism and meddling by western governments. Tribal allegiances and cultural identities in "countries" that came from lines on a map drawn by some western asshole.
Yeah kurds are just different area of turkey

No, obviously Turkish and Kurdish people are of different origin. Their language is quite different, and if many Kurds seem to be integrated into the Turkish society, there are many tensions between the two communities.
Here in Brussels, we have both also, and now and then some riots happen in the neighbourhood of some cultural center of one of the two communities.
Considering the many different communities here in Brussels, actually things go relatively well, and most probably better than in Turkey.
Kurds have been caught between rock and hard place since WW1. Wedged between Turkey, Syria, and Iraq and not really wanted by any of them they got hosed. What the British & French did in Middle East after the first world war was criminal. Arbitrary borders that though enemies together for the sake if straight lines on a map made it seem easier to split into spheres of influence at the time

"The raid in Shrewsbury was one of 265 carried out across England and Wales last month as part of a crackdown on High Street businesses - often Turkish-style barbers, vape shops and mini-marts - suspected of being fronts for international crime gangs."
"Are Kurds and Turks the same thing?" That's like asking if the Nazi's were a Jewish movement from their point of view in my understanding. I don't know about the people but Turkey as a country want's to genocide the Kurds.
The Kurdish people live in areas situated within Turkiye, Iraq, Syria and some neighbours. They have been fighting for a 'Kurdistan' for decades, if not centuries. They are definitely not Turks.
You're the type of person that will order turkish coffee at a Greek restaurant aren't you?
Deepest respect for your perfidious nature :) Love it.
They all look the same to me , so therefore sure they must be the same , otherwise they wouldn't let em work in the Barbers shop right? 😁
No, even our languages are very different. I mean ethnically no but millions of Kurds live in Türkiye. We have been living together for a long time throughout the history.
Kurds are local people of Babylon. Turks sweep across Middle East from easten asia
Not at all, and if you suggested that to either group, you'd have a lot of explaining to do.
its like saying are scotish people same as British people
Or that the Welsh are English
@jamesgoldman yes
The Scots are British people, Scotland is in Britain
If memory serves, the Kurds want their own country and are actively fighting the Turks.
NO there's from different areas though some cross over and cultural similarities exist.
Let me put it this way - Did Little Miss Muffett and Saddam Hussain have Turks in their whey?
Simples...
No, Kurds can have Turkish citizenship, but ethnically speaking, they are not Turks, I think they are more related to Persians.
Not exactly, but I don't know the difference between them.
Incoming!!! Shots gonna be fired!!! DUCK!!!
They are not. Is this a serious question?
Nah, I just wanted to see if it was possible to ask a "do you know Turkey" question and get answers.
Different culture and religion
I don’t know
