The founders never meant for politics to be a career. Ordinarily leaders would serve their one or two terms and then go back home and resume their lives.
Joe Biden made $176,000 as a senator. He could afford 5 expensive homes. I made almost as much as that and no way could I afford anywhere near that. Elon Musk said DOGE would investigate anybody in politics that got "strangely rich".
Spending 2 billion dollars to win an election for a job that paid $200,000 makes no sense unless all the kickbacks and the ability to get good stock tips mskes it worthwhile.

its not a surprise really there is a proven study that people tend to think higher of those who are rich not because they are good people but simply because they resemble what we all wish to be someday and what do we all want well money. on another note I personally belive that rich people are favored because they must know how to regulate all that money or so you would think but then again most people can't get past the first thing i mentioned that by the time you get here if you get here its kinda like ok that makes sense
