There are so many people online and everybody has some kind of hurt or something they're coping with in a indirect way by having very strong opinions on some issues or thinking some group of people are the problem etc. I think it's more often an emotional problem rather than people actually not being able to agree on the facts. They're attatched to this world view because leaving it would force them to examine some internal issue in a different light and they really don't want to do that. So they'd rather fight to the end for their ideas.

It basically boils down to being able to post anonymously and not being held accountable for your acts or comments.

I'm pretty sure most people would not even open their mouth if faced with something in real life. It's easy to bully someone behind a computer screen in some dark room in the lousy place they were born in. It takes 0 percent courage.

In general, I do not comment on or ask about politics or religion. You know you're going to get heated debates. For most of these topics, viewpoints are either black or white.

I asked a friend once, who did lash out terribly, online, but not that much in real life. He told me: "But everyone is lashing out online, it's just normal"

Prior to this answer, I already believed in the sheer power of conformity though.

I'm one of them. Stupid people trigger me 😂

You could be saying 2 2 is 4 and they'd be saying it's 5 and you're trying to justify yourself to the plebs that either can't read or comprehend the information. Those types of people make me want to rip the skin off my flesh 😂

Because it's the one place where run thier mouth without somebody potentially putting a fist in it.

I posted about Pamela Anderson's new look in Facebook the other day and got 356 responses from angry females. Some actually too the time to go to my Facebook page and copy one of my pics and start critiquing Mr. It was pretty surreal. Because you'd think I'd had insulted thier sister or mother or something. No. I just made a comment about a woman who got famous for taking her clothes off for money. Why defend that? It's because these women weren't defending her. They were defending a perceived slight about them. The ones who got irrationally angry deep down new thier physical appearance is the ONLY thing she has going for her. And like Pamela Anderson, when that's gone, that's the ballgame for her. And these women don't want to be reminded of that.

A lot of people come here burdened by loneliness and a void in meaningful connections with other people. So they arrive already very vulnerable. As social media often tends to be primarily antisocial behavior, those rude, crude and flat out vicious words sometimes rub those vulnerable users the wrong way. The rude users are typically wholly ineffectual in their own lives. So they get off on the “power” of bullying sensitive strangers online.

Yeah I think the inconsequential nature of online forums like this one makes people more likely to vent on it by being triggered or get a dopamine rush from trolling and picking fights

Which is why I rarely put much stock into what one person says in a fit of online rage

It's a psychological effect of being invested so deeply into things that you WANT to express yourself in. That these issues REALLY matter and the others just don't get it. People in their homes get too emotionally in to the things they scribble about.

Hmmm, Great question, anonymity? I literally just tried to respond to a post, a poll, and found out the user blocked me. I have no clue who that user is! Most of my responses are a sentence or two at best, and very benign, very rarely do I offer a very candid and personal opinion, everything, I post is honest, aside from satire?

Because they've never been punched in the mouth or seriously had to worry about that. People had way more self-control back when they knew doing anything even a little weird or threatening other people would get them beat up.

Kids younger than 40 have been raised entirely in the brain washing propaganda programing of TV and media. They didn't call TV programs, for no reason. Im 43. I didn't watch TV when I was a kid because not everyone even had one. I played outside, with people. I watched the shit out of TV from 1992 to 1999. Watched the last episode of Seinfeld in 1999, graduated Highschool probably weeks later and haven't turned on a TV since.

I don't think they are more easily triggered. The relative anonymity of being online allows them to say, and do, things they might not otherwise do.

They clearly don't understand the definition of a pedo. Only a bigoted, non-empathetic, illogical, childish girl would say something like that in response to your question. There's no helping some people

@HawkPerception Yes, I got another such comment for asking about a girl's pants. I asked if people liked the pants, not if they wanted to have sex with her.
