Yes, he's having the time of his life. But I agree with him about the bill. It is a horrible bill that will make Trump and the Republicans richer, it will take away much needed money from poor people, and it will cut away Medicare and Medicaid from the people who need it. Those Republicans who voted for the bill are shameful and scum.

This Republican congress is more popular than most congresses historically but even the 2 most popular Republicans are 15 points less popular than Musk and 20 points less than Trump. Musk and Trump are executives. They dont have legislative power. Musk plays bad cop and attacks congress. (They do have legislative power) Republican congress cannot oppose Musk and keep their job... unless they work with Trump. The executive branch and the legislative branch are now aligned. I completely agree with @amy10223 Musk originally was all for the cuts that would hurt so many needlessly, but now he is ranting that there is so much pork left that the MAGA types are going to scarf up. Trump has been pretending to ignore it all. but it has made him mad. But Elon has been saying he will use his money against Trump in fighting the Bill and helping Trump's enemies get elected. That money is what Trump has loved and it scares him now.

I don't claim to know all the nuances that go on in compromising a deal like this, but I can say, the sacrifice Musk endured to slash waste and then to get his dick cut off with more spending has got to be infuriating. I know I wasn't for the increase either.

He appears he was the balls behind the slashing, trump fears looking like a bad guy and wanted a scape goat to blame things on when it heads south. It sounds like all Musk wanted out of this deal was expense cuts and whistle blown reports removed from his companies for the dirty work (those offices were all shuttered, whistle reports gone). He didn't expect the people to protest crashing his brand essentially cutting the other foot off. Now he has no legs to stand on.
