He asks that, just as medieval Europe set itself up for "the Black Death" (bubonic plague) because of its lack of understanding of physical sanitation and physical health, is the modern world setting itself up for a "Psychological Black Death" because of its lack of understanding of spiritual sanitation and emotional health?

Yes. They try to push them out into the community far too much.

In my apartment block we had one. Screaming, crying out for days on end. She'd gone off her meds, allegedly had run out. I managed to contact her physician and he sent me a prescription to fill for her.

Doctors are always willing to take calls from a patient's neighbor and write scripts for them aren't they? She wouldn't take them of course.

After that we started calling Ambos, Police, a community pysch team. but they wouldn't do anything unless she said she wanted to be taken away. We managed to contact her family - they were great. But they couldn't get her taken away either.

Eventually after many repeat calls they did take her away.

Yeah we need more pyscho hospitals and easier thresholds to put them in as involuntary admissions.

maybe but we really need more spiritual revival, people healed emotionally on the inside. we need a lot of that, so many broken. look at our suicide rate. it isn't hospitals we need, but maybe discipline and structure to put away the phones, manage elctronic stuff, purpose... families.

@Dongie I hate those places with a passion I would never wanna be there I think it does a lot more harm than it does good It really knocks you down and you lose your freedom much worse than prison

I've visited my dad in one and later spent a week in one. It was very relaxing and comforting in a way. Like a sanctuary. I wouldn't want to stay any longer tho. They told me my dad needed to be there instead of me.

That was the worst part. This one kid, probably 15 or 16 told me of his abusive mother. It was heartbreaking. It was in February of 1987 after I shot my dad. He had shot me in June of 86 when I grappled for the gun and it fired with the bullet striking my right cheek. He had his gun out after me that night, January 24th 87 so I got my 4-10 and shot him in the head. By the Grace of Jesus Christ, it only parted his hair down the middle cutting into his scalp about a quarter of an inch said the physician. The blast knocked him back and to the floor. I was on the stairs and ran up thinking I had missed him and dove out the window breaking my right foot in 3 places.
