I didn't bother reading the entire article. Any "news article" that starts off like that is NOT news. It goes on about "good moral character". What it fails to mention is that that has always been a requirement. That's the way it should be.

In the old system, it wasn't. Don't do illegal things, and you're considered moral enough, but Trump feels differently. I'm pretty sure the no criminal acts part still applies, but he wants other things that are a lot more subjective. It's like how OK is requiring a test to be a teacher there and one of the questions is "Who won the 2020 election?" The correct answer is not the one who took office in 2021, despite the fact that almost every major political and legal figure says he won.
