It seems that way to me. It seems like child abuse to me because of the effects Fetal Achol syndrome can have.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is not a genetic disorder; it is caused by a pregnant person consuming alcohol.

delayed development, failure to thrive, learning disability, low birth weight, short stature, or slow growth

It's not child abuse because it's not yet a child; it's a developing fetus. But that's not really the point because eventually, if all goes well, it will be a child and you want it to be as healthy as possible. If you want to minimize risk, don't drink alcohol at all during pregnancy. That said, women have been doing it in varying quantities since alcohol was discovered.

I believe there's far more damage to be done to a fetus by harmful additives in food, poor quality drinking water, pesticides and second hand smoke, than if you have a glass of wine or two a week, especially after 26 weeks.
