If you saw someone with an American flag on the front of their hat, would you think they are likely conservative, or liberal?

I ask because im not exactly liberal, or conservative, but I wear a hat that has an American flag on the front, and "USA" on the back. My grandpa saw me, and said "i didn't know you were conservative" I just chuckled, and didn't say anything.

It's become a symbol used more often by conservatives because they believe themselves to be the gatekeepers of patriotism and the "American Way". The former is nonsense, but the latter is actually true, just not in the way they think it is.

At this point in time, flag flying has come to mean "I support Trump", not "I support freedom" like maga's think it means. That's why they'll call you unpatriotic if you don't want to fly the US flag on your home. They don't understand we liberals are far more patriotic than they will EVER be.

I would think they treat it as some fashion thing instead of a political one, just like the UK flag, because I don't live in USA.

Now if someone did that with my country's flag, oh that would be weird, and then yes I'd think they have political intents. In that case, conservative is not the descriptor that would come to my mind, it would be far-right instead.

It's a very regional, contextual thing. There are tons of US flags in US streets and stores for apparently no reason (to me). It's even a cultural thing I find funny, since it looks to me like people want to be reminded of the country they live in, in case they forgot?

It's the opposite in my location, the flag is official stuff, mostly a thing for city halls, police station, schools and any other official building, and that's about it.

I have met enough Americans in my time that a flag on a hat means nothing. I have noticed no pattern. Liberals and Conservatives both seem proud of their contry

That they are an everyday American. Seeing the American flag in America is about as exclusive as seeing penguins in the Antarctic.

Conservative, maybe moderate. Certainly not "liberal" (communist). Those people hate America and the idea of freedom. They want to live like insects.

I would think they are fascists. The conservatives are mild in comparison to the fascism we have now. Fascists have co-opted symbols like the American flag.
