How come when President Trump imposed tariffs the Democrats and their media waged war against him but when Biden did it there wasn't a peep from them?

President Trump has 100% legal authority to levy tariffs under numerous other laws (below) that have nothing to do with what the Supreme Court ruled. And he is already doing it.

By the way, Biden (or more accurately his Democrat puppet masters in Washington) used Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 immediately below to greatly expand tariffs on Chinese goods. NOT A PEEP FROM THE DEMOCRATS AND ALMOST COMPLETELY COVERED UP IN THEIR FAKE NEWS.

1. Trade Act of 1974 (effective in 1975)

This is the primary 1970s statute most discussed in relation to presidential tariff authority:

Section 301: Authorizes the President (through the U. S. Trade Representative) to take “appropriate action,” including tariffs, against foreign governmental acts, policies, or practices that unjustifiably or unreasonably burden U. S. commerce — typically after an investigation. It’s been a basis for U. S. retaliation in trade disputes.

Section 201: Allows temporary emergency “safeguard” tariffs to protect U. S. industries from sudden import surges.

Section 122 (Balance-of-Payments Authority): Grants the President authority to impose a temporary import surcharge (a tariff) of up to 15% for 150 days without prior congressional approval to address serious balance-of-payments problems. This provision is explicitly from the 1974 Trade Act and has been invoked in recent tariff debates.

2. Other related statutes

These laws have been used alongside 1970s authorities in tariff actions and are worth mentioning:

Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 — allows tariffs if imports threaten U. S. national security (used for steel & aluminum tariffs).

Tariff Act of 1930 (Section 338) — gives authority for additional tariffs on discriminatory foreign treatment.
