I think the most respectable jobs are the ones where someone is responsible for other people’s safety or well-being….. and still shows up every day anyway.

Teachers, nurses, caregivers… even people raising kids.

That kind of responsibility doesn’t clock out, and it’s often underpaid and underappreciated.

To me… the respect isn’t about status… it’s about how much of yourself you give, especially when it’s not easy.

The role of a waste-mucker is a respectable one if the person engaged in doing so is respectable.

There are many vocations that aren't very respectable in my view, but most are.

Therefore, I wouldn't say that there is a most respectable occupation.

If I may be so bold, the 'most revered' occupation may be another way of asking this question in order to obtain desired results.

Again, even though I might be able to give a list of most revered occupations, I won't nail any one of them down as being the most revered.
