Even if they ingested gallons of water, it does not cool the body; the body's total temperature will drop fast with the total immersion of the body in a cooling liquid. Keeping hydrated before you feel thirsty will help stave off some heat-related problems
um refrigarator is 40°f so COLD water cools.
Water sits in the stomach, like a container, nowhere near the skin, so it helps minimally. You can also cool the body off too quickly, which can cause big problems with the body regulating its core temperature.
Cold water isn't enough to cool unfortunately...
but it is. i use it.
