I have eventually learned the hard way that most people can't face the reality of who they are. So... be very careful when you criticize someone. Most people spend their whole lives trying to escape who they truly are. If he is bad at his job, don't tell him that. Act like he is good at his job. If he is fat but believes women like fat men, let him believe that. If she is 50 and still believes she can have a baby, let her believe it. If a man is unsuccessful but still thinks he is amazing, don't try to remind him he is a loser. If someone is ugly, never ever hint they won't be able to compete for the pageant in any way shape or form. Because it will ruin relationships and connections. If you need their help in the future, they won't help you.

I've had many friendships fail because I have been too honest with them. As if honesty is toxic and made me a bad person. Better to just lie and make myself look good than to destroy a connection

For sure. Sometimes facing up to who you are is scary. Even more so now where it's important for people to portray a certain image on social media. It's sad but true
