We need to count: after ww2 we battled to save south korea in 1950s and we won. We saved south korea. The goal was never to steal north korea.

we battled to save south vietnam in 1960s and we won. We saved south vietnam. Until we left and commies violated treaty.

we battled to save kuwait in 1990s and we won. We saved it.

we battled to save iraq in 2000s and we won. We saved kurds from saddam hussein and his chemical wmd'.

We battled isis' in iraq and syria and we won. We saved iraq and syria. So which won did we lose?

Vietnam and Afghanistan were political defeats after the US military was no longer involved.
In Vietnam, the US started pulling out in 1969, handing control over to the ARVN. In 1973 the US left. The NVA launched its invasion in 1975, and congress only allowed Operation Frequent Wind, which removed US Citizens and others from Saigon.
In Afghanistan, the US began withdrawing in 2011 after Bin Ladens death. In 2014 it ended is combat mission handing control over to tge ANDSF. The only troops left were advisors. By 2021 there were few Americans in country, and the ANDSF fought the Taliban largely alone from 2015 to 2021.

These were political disasters. Not real military defeats, like many love to claim. It's desperate people have to point out wars where the US was no longer involved. It's either a lack of education of the topic, or dishonesty.

The korean war was the US military was caught napping post WW2.

The Vietnam war was part of the overall strategic Cold war. The soviets were spending a lot of their wealth funding international communism, the korean war and Vietnam war among other wars along with their military build up. By the end of the Vietnam war the Soviet union was broke.

In the Vietnam war the ARVN south Vietnamese were given everything they needed to fight and win but lacked the will. Same as the afgan national army. Eventually countries have to stand on their own.

Wars are fought differently in 2026 than they were in 1945. Its not about capturing territory anymore.

Tnx. I had democrat parents so i learnt the words that make a spin on facts. And use them the way i believe. Not the misleading democrat way like "it is his fault that the national debt is so big and bad he stopped paying for abortions". Unbelievable.

You have made realize that as well as tactical and strategic military wins/losses there are also geo pol strategic wins. North Korea vs South Korea was mostly a draw but geopolitically it was a strategic win.

I would say the US has played a canny game in recent years with China.
