If a president refuses to leave office, who can actually remove him?

Please don't prattle on about it being a violation of the Constitution. Trump doesn't care, and there are no police to enforce the Constitution. Courts also can't enforce anything because there are no police to enforce federal court orders. Trump will assert immunity, and the Supreme Court will support him.

Well you ask a question then say, "don't prattle on" that suggests you want us to give you the answer you want to hear. Well, since no president has done it we can't say with absolute certainty what WILL happen. But what SHOULD happen is the secret service after the election and eventual inauguration answers to the NEW president. And they SHOULD remove the president that refuses to leave. But can i say that will happen? Can i say the outgoing president won't call out the national guard? The point i'm trying to make is no one can know for certain because this will be where loyalties get tested. And i don't care whether you're MAGA or whether you're just loyal to this particular president. I think MOST people will be smart enough to realize backing TRUMP at that point is not only backing a losing horse, that it's not only career suicide, but it's TREASON at that point. We serve the United States Constitution. Not the president who is merely the servant and defender of the constitution.

But i also thought Trump would never get elected president. And even though i was LESS sure about it i couldn't imagine him getting re-elected. I guess i underestimated the MAGA resolve. Or maybe overestimated the democrats cohesion.

I will say this. I think people need think REAL HARD about what doing something like this means. F*** all that has happened so far. If Trump decides to stay via a Coup d'etat. I think Americans needs to understand what that means. The last 250 years is over. I would certainly hope Trump wouldn't consider doing something like that. I don't think he will. I think he'll exhaust ever LEGAL avenue to stay in power. It may involve setting legal pecedences. But i don't think it'll come to tanks on the streets of D. C.

At the point it being time for a new president to be sworn in his physical presence no longer matters. The new president will be sworn in, who will now be in charge of the secret service and the military. Secret Service will have the task of removing the ex-president turned trespasser from the premises. If they refuse, US Marshals will be ordered to do the same as well as the military. Such a man would have to have virtually unassailable influence over all of these entities to get by with remaining, which as I pointed out, does not allow him to continue to command agencies and perform regular duties. He can sit in that place all he likes but in many ways he will be decapitated at noon on Jan 20th. The new president will be in charge.

In the UK that would be the King's responsibility, but in the USA I believe that duty falls upon gun owners who constantly justify having a gun for situations like this. Good luck.

i read that it was up to the secret service to do it. if they don't, then i don't know who would? if the SS says no (I can't believe it's called the SS), then it would probably be the people that do it. i would suggest doing what they did in salem, oregon.

I expect the US Secret Service Uniformed Division would have a duty to physically remove him from the White House. All personnel take an oath to be faithful to the Constitution and the Laws. Not even Trump´s Supreme Court appointees would vote to allow him to remain in office.

It would be the Secret Service. As soon as the former President is impeached , he loses secret service that he has and the VP's Secret Service take over. No way a VP would not take office of President. It is why he got into Politics in the first place.

So by refusing to physically leave the office he would be trespassing and removed by the same people who would remove You if you decided to go camp in there.

He would the be handed over to DC metro police for a formal arrest.
With the US Park Police securing the are as the White House is built on a federal park.

And who would order the secret service to do what you say? that is to detain him? Who would force the actual secret service officers to do that?

They wouldn’t need to be “forced” they are people doing a job.
The order would come from the commander in chief of the US.
Normally it would be the new president who automatically gains that authority the very second a term ends and a new one begins.
If for some reason the new POTUS is not elected the chain of succession would be respected until someone is found.
Per the constitution itself which clearly states that the seat of commander in chief is never vacant.

I don't think that it would happen as readily as you portray. If you have not noticed, people who are the president such as Trump are are treated with great deference not because anybody necessarily has any respect for them, but because people are afraid of, I want to suggest to you that that deference extends long after they leave office or are supposed to leave office. Trump has enjoyed great deference from the supreme Court for instance and from the legal system in general. He has yet to be sentenced for the crimes he was convicted of. He probably never will be. If he wants to remain in the White House, I think it will be extremely difficult to remove him, especially since he is likely to have many of his supporters protecting him.
