Yawn. There is nothing magic about 40 trillion except in the mind of those who want to use it for political purposes to deceive people. The national debt is actually increasing more slowly since President Trump started his second term.

Here are the facts. The average annual increase in the national debt in the last three years of Biden's term was $2.3453 trillion. The annual increase in Biden's last year in office was $2.2974 trillion.

The increase in the debt in the first year of Trump's second term was $2.1729 trillion, a decrease of $104 billion over Biden's last year in office and a $172 billion decrease from the average of the last three years before Trump took office.

So no, all the political claptrap about the sky falling on the debt is nothing but biased politically motivated deception to try to make Trump look bad.

Trump is doing his best to reduce the government payroll , cut unnecessary items from the budget, deport illegal aliens and reduce the deficit through tariffs. If the democrats did not get in his way we would be doing a lot better.

Democrat fraud, especially welfare fraud in states like Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maine are in the tens of billions of dollars. Democrat governors just chose to look the other way.

There's welfare fraud and tax fraud everywhere. I did taxes as a seasonal job for 2 tax seasons. God is my witness, at least 3/4ths of black "tax filers" are on Earned Income Credit and get paid by the government to raise their illegitimate children. They also fraudulently file "head of household" for multiple filers at the same address, which is supposed to be illegal, but it costs the government more money to audit them correctly than it would be worth to enforce the law.

If we don't ban Earned Income Credit and Refundable Child Tax Credits in the USA, I swear that's going to gradually become one of the biggest items on trhe budget. Already, the two biggest legal items are the military and the interest on the debt, but all of these "social programs" for blacks are crippling the government and the people.

The military SHOULD be the number one expenditure since protecting the country from foreign threats is the number one legitimate function of government. But guess where it comes in? Number FIVE.

Percentages of federal government budget:

1. Social Security 22%

2. Medicare 15%

3. Net Interest on the national debt 15%

4. "Health" 13%

5. National Defense 13%

6. "Income Security" a. k. a welfare (not counting the Medicare welfare) 10%

Probably at least half of all of these budget allocations are rampant with waste, fraud, abuse and corruption. It is completely out of control. If a private sector business handled their money the way these government services handle our money, the entire management team would be in prison.

@RingOfFire Elon musk was doing a great job uncovering waste and fraud in government agencies. As a contractor he was limited in the length that he could do this. I do not understand why DOGE was allowed to just die a quiet death, I am sure that President Trump could have found somebody the replace him. Is is a coincidence that Elon left just when he said that the Pentagon was going to be the next place that DOGE investigated.

I agree that something happened there that isn't public information. But as important as that is, I am still glad that President Trump is choosing things that are even more important yet to focus on at this time. Protecting our border and preventing the number one source of terrorism on the planet from obtaining a nuclear weapon. As important as rooting out the government rot is, I think those need priority at this time.

But the Trump administration is also going to take away MediCare Part D which is the prescription plan for seniors. This will start January 2027.

Picture being a senior living on practically nothing and now you have to worry where and how you are going to get your prescriptions on January 1st, 2027.

Our government is also increasing the premiums for MediCare for seniors.

It seems like every time they need money for something else they find a way to get it from the senior citizens that are on the bare minimum income, while still having a pay for expensive groceries and electric bills just like everyone else!

When is the government going to stop ripping off our senior citizens only to turn around and spend the money somewhere else. They have to stop doing that (and Elon Musk with his trillionaire ideas to get the deficit down doesn't have to go to sleep every night wondering about how he's going to eat)!

I think the news wants you to think that things are terrible because they want you to not support President Trump. The fact is that there is lots of good news. But they don't want you to know about it.

Meanwhile "The peoples city of new york" is getting PERMISSION to borrow billions more, 18 bn. more and- in contrast to trump NOT SPENDING $172 billion (172×10^9) mamdani -d will increase debt by more than 35 billion! $40 trillion is a large number. That's more than $100,000 for every many, woman and child in the country. You have to pay that, some time. That's not fake news.

The fake news is making believe that is something new. The $40 trillion didn't happen overnight. It has been growing for decades and it's just another number.

The headline should be... National Debt Growing More Slowly During Trump's Second Term. THAT is the news, not the fact that the debt has been growing out of control for decades. We already know that. It's no breaking news yet they make believe it is.
