What do you think of this 2nd grader wearing a lace front wig to school?

This topic has been going around online lately regarding a little girl wearing a full lace front wig to her 2nd-grade class. Personally, I don’t think a 7 or 8-year-old child should be wearing a wig like that. They are way too young for it, and they should just be wearing their own natural hair.

Back when I was a kid, wigs were usually reserved for older folks. Little girls in the 2nd grade didn’t have those; they wore barrettes and had cute, simple hairstyles that actually fit their age group. It feels like this modern generation of young parents is obsessed with dressing their children up to look completely grown, which ultimately takes away their childhood innocence.

To make matters worse, I even saw a video the other day of two little girls cussing up a storm while wearing heavy jewelry and acrylic nails. They were sitting in a car listening to music they shouldn’t even be listening to, completely riding with no seatbelts on. The mom was just filming it, approving of the whole thing, and thinking it was hilarious and cute.

What do y'all think about this trend? Are parents today pushing kids to grow up way too fast for social media attention, or do you view it differently?

This is completely wrong. She doesn't look like a child anymore. It's so strange and even dangerous.

I watched some videos of mothers putting wigs on their children. Worst, some make their babies wear them! Babies, can you believe it?

I wonder what's going on in these women's minds to believe that it's okay for their children to wear wigs. In the end this is all related to how some black women feel about their natural hair.

Based on personal experience, I do agree that some parents want their kids to look older. It's bizarre!

At the same time social media plays an huge role in this. That's why you see many little girls wearing makeup and clothes that are inappropriate for their age. It's messing up with their minds!

It's probably easier for her to wear fake hair then to deal with unruly hair everyday.

Kids these days look a lot older than they are.

They are bigger and look more mature than the 2nd graders that I went to school with.

It's probably something in the food and water.

This girl is not only wearing a wig, she’s wearing fake nails, dresses like a teenager and pose like one too. This is bad parenting and it looks so ghetto. It’s sad.
