What kind of life do u have to live to be able to say that you actually lived?

That answer will be different for everyone based on their priorities. But at a fundamental level did you have control over your choices and accomplish the things you value? Or were you constantly reacting to external forces and other people's expectations while your goals and needs went unmet? If so, say you sacrificed for your children, was that your achievement in life? Is that enough for you?
