Is it just me or are people less party crazy than the late 2010s and all the years, decades, etc before that here in America?

I remember back than people used to talk about parties non-stop and used to see it in your face always. It was the thing. Bars, clubs, house parties. People went nuts. Even if you didn't go to parties, etc you know it was going on hardcore. It was online, in the movies, you see it in person. What happened?

Younger generation rejects alcohol, especially expensive drinks. They are smart… driven by a lack of funds though. The older generations grew up, had kids, paying a mortgage and okaying video games, having house parties with their own alcohol.

There are cheap drink places though at bars. Are they just not into drinking, etc? And the older generations, I mean even people of all ages were going crazy back than too lol. It could be just the economy for the older people? People of all ages just becoming more socially awkward, especially after COVID. How old are you? Remember the party craziness that happened even if you didn't participate in it? It stopped during COVID. It hasn't gotten back.

I stopped drinking years ago. Trump actually started a thing by explaining why he doesn’t drink and a lot if people just stopped. For me it was time. I partied heavy back in the day. Clubs, bars, restaurants, parties, cruise ships, home… lots of places. It was a drain on my brain, my memory, bad for my organs, bad for work as the impact on memory and brain and sleep. I just stopped and don’t miss it.

Back in the 2000s every bar and club was hopping every night of the week. Theyve largely killed it. Alcohol is more expensive, taxis more expensive, clubs more expensive, police more punitive on Alcohol use, most people now working shift work

I don't have an answer, but I think a large part of the reason is the general housing shortage and relatively lower wages. It's hard to host a party in your parent's house, or to go out and party when a few drinks is half a day's take home pay. I just came back from Paris and one of the most attractive things about Paris is the café society -- sidewalk tables full of people eating and drinking until 11 or midnight. There's nothing like it here in Seattle, or in New York or London.
