What are your thoughts on the new war brewing in Africa?

[KostasKouvalis]

Ethiopia wants to take back part of Eritrea to have a port on the Red Sea, and both countries have already send troops to each other's countries.

[MrChinaski]

I know its a terrible thing to say, but Africa just seems so hopeless to do anything to improve from the outside. The institutions of government are woeful. If you are going to have your assets confiscated arbitrarily, why invest in capital? If there's not capital to work with, why invest in education? The West can provide immunisations and mosquito netting, maybe the occasional food drop in the event of a drought, and all the rest of the foreign aid is futile. Only Africa can improve Africa.

[KostasKouvalis]

I agree.
The people too

George Clooney is a huge Hollywood liberal, like they all are, and they hate war. But when a military conflict struck out in Darfur Africa, Clooney demanded that American troops go fight on his behalf. Of course Clooney wasn't about to sign up for the task, but he wanted our young folks to go fight and die for his cause.

The ringleader of Blackwater (Private military) steps up on the mic and tells Clooney to write a check and the problem will be solved without American government troops getting involved.

That shut clooney's trap up because he's not going to give away his wealth just to save dying Africans.

So what should be done about this? Let the Brits handle it. Then I'll sit back and criticize every move they make.

[lilBigPotato]

Tbh I haven't paid attention to anything going on there but any new conflict is obviously very bad.

[purplepoppy]

Same old story, never enough money to sort shit out but always enough for war.

[KostasKouvalis]

Hey yeah, that's a good point

[4ngelic]

Here we go again..

Haven't heard of it until now

[moddy_the_mod]

don't care as long as I'm not paying for any of it.

[FrodoSkywalker007]

Not news worthy.

Not enough white people or jews 🤷‍♂️sorry

[KostasKouvalis]

Yeah, I agree. I mean, it interests ME as a geography buff, but otherwise you;re right

[shish_kebab]

Fro, I think I'm just going to start calling you Rush. 😂
He would have given the same answer.

[jahaims]

[Pterodon]
