A children’s book titled Communism for Kids: Learn What Communism Is and How It Has Changed the World for Babies, Toddlers, Kids and Young Children is being marketed to very young children.

Its full book overview says:

“This book is an introduction to communism for kids. It explains what communism is and how it has changed the world. Kids will learn about Karl Marx’s ideas. And they will also learn about the different attempts to make a communist society and why they all failed. Finally, kids will gain an appreciation for how Karl Marx’s ideas have made the world a better place.”

I have no objection to teaching children history, including capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism, and other political systems when they are old enough to understand them. But there is an important difference between teaching children what an ideology is—including its successes and failures—and explicitly seeking to cultivate appreciation for that ideology in babies, toddlers, and young children.

The description itself acknowledges that attempts to create communist societies failed, yet concludes by saying children will gain an appreciation for how Karl Marx’s ideas supposedly made the world better.

Should books for babies and young children encourage appreciation for Karl Marx’s ideas?

DSA’s radical agenda:

The DSA’s current program explicitly includes “Feminism For All,” declaring: “Socialist feminism fights for queer liberation and the freedoms of all working class women.” It also supports unrestricted reproductive and gender-transition policies, changes to marriage and family policy, and compensation for care work.

On government, the DSA states: “For the working class to govern, we need a new political system.” Its stated proposals include abolishing the Electoral College and Senate; replacing the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary selected by and subordinate to Congress; replacing the two-party system with proportional, multiparty elections; and publicly owning the largest corporations and essential industries.

Its constitution also rejects an economic order based on private profit and endorses popular control of production, economic planning, equitable distribution, and feminism. These are the DSA’s own stated goals—not a conservative interpretation of them.

I think they are because they are the ones responsible for helping the poor, paying for healthcare, roads, education, ensuring our military is strong and paying more into social security to help the elderly.

First of all, they live in wealthy Western countries. They face a lower risk of rape and violence.

For women, beauty is important if they want to be respected, and beauty standards are built entirely around white women. Billions of Indian men would be willing to swim across the ocean for them.

The countries they live in give them preferential treatment under the law.

When they want to work, they get office jobs instead of having to carry loads on their heads for hours like women in Madagascar.

They can freely show off their bodies and receive attention for it. An Afghan woman cannot do that.

But, but, but ironically, despite all of this, the people who complain the most about their lives and their position are still white women.

Whatever one thinks of Netanyahu, a mayor should not attempt to turn New York City into an independent actor in international law. That is why I believe President Trump should intervene if Mamdani seriously tries to carry this out.

Mainstream Democrats may support a larger safety net and stronger regulation than Republicans, but democratic socialism represents a much broader ideological shift.

The DSA does not merely advocate programs such as Social Security or Medicare. It says key economic sectors should be collectively owned, supports public ownership of major transportation and energy infrastructure, and seeks major structural changes to the constitutional system, including abolishing the Senate. The organization also describes itself as standing against the capitalist class and working toward an alternative to the Democratic Party.

Democrats who abandon their mainstream wing for the DSA would not simply be choosing a more generous version of liberalism. They would be empowering a socialist movement that rejects important parts of the market economy and the constitutional framework in which the Democratic Party has traditionally operated.

People frustrated with Democratic leadership can demand reforms without embracing an organization whose agenda goes far beyond ordinary center-left policy. Replacing mainstream Democrats with democratic socialists would likely deepen political polarization, alienate moderate and independent voters, and make the party less competitive in battleground states such as Michigan. Recent reporting shows that this ideological conflict is already dividing Democrats nationally and in Michigan.
