Will low GOP turnout continue in November, or will Republicans back Democrats?

Turnout by Republicans in 2026 was one of the lowest ever recorded. Democrats dominated Primaries and Special elections.

Why would Republicans show up to vote?

1) Democrats control nothing , so they did nothing to motivate Republicans to show up

2) Trump's policies and wars have made cost of living explode. Everything has almost doubled in price in just 2 years. Why would Republicans want even higher prices by voting Republicans back in?

3) Trump replacing Republican candidates with Make Israel Great Again candidates

4) The underhanded tactics of Trump cheating in elections. Republicans want to win fair and square.

So do you think Republicans will show up to vote in November and will they vote for Democrats?

All Republicans have to run on is Democrats are Communists!

Republicans have no accomplishments. If say shut border down , yes but murdered protesters and immigrants to do it.

This country is polarized beyond repair and most people who vote Republican are dumber than a bag of rocks while their identity is completely dependent on being a "conservative". They aren't capable of voting on economic issues they don't understand if it means not being a "conservative". Republicans vote identity politics. It's who they are. That will never change. That's why conservative think tanks have been using identity politics and culture war propaganda for 75 years. It works.

And on the other side of the argument, Democrats are once again offering nothing beyond... not Trump. There is no other cohesive message or platform.

I think that Republicans may not be able to tolerate the cognitive dissonance that voting for a Democrat will cause them, but I also think that they are very unlikely to vote for Trump (which may also cause an equal amount, if not more, of cognitive dissonance). If you have never experienced cognitive dissonance, it is another way of saying you have to admit to yourself that you made a mistake or were wrong, and for many people, it can be exceedingly uncomfortable. That is why many people find it almost impossible to apologize, even though it's appropriate.

Republicans did not show up for the primaries. President Trump is doing 35 rallies in 35 days to insert himself into the election. I hope people wake up and realize that the country they save could be their own. Trump won handily in 2024 so hopefully voters will turnout in droves for this important election.

In my state there is two important elections , a governor and a senator. The governor;s race has a real chance to flip it to a Republican.

Every vote will count. The RNC will again watch for places where cheating could happen. They have been preparing for this since Trump won in 2024, However once again it needs to be too big to rig.

You give your average Republican too much credit thinking they’ll vote for their own interest for once. They will thank Trump for bankrupting them with high prices as long as he stops Democrats from taking everyone’s guns away!
