Sanewashing: Attempting to downplay a person or idea's radicality to make it more acceptable to the general public. This is often done by media & supporters claiming that the radicalism / speaker is taken out of context, don't truly represent the movement, or that opponents' arguments about its severity are wrong.
Oftentimes, the person / media doing the sanewashing isn't radical themselves—they may be doing so because they genuinely don't believe the movement to be radical, or are trying to justify to themselves how they can support a radical movement.
It is also used in the context of making the unintelligible, erratic or incoherent babbling or rantings seem sane by media being selective and favorable in its treatment of the person's words and delivery.

It's really difficult for many people to feel financially stable enough for it. And then on top of that, you're telling me I have to have sex with someone? Get real. I struggle to even take care of myself from rampant depression, and I'm sure others do, too. Having kids is a massive ask. More power to the people who don't mind doing it, or are able to, of course.
