Would you be personally willing to subsidize and shelter an individual or family until they are self sustaining?
11.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am tired of the right win trying to disguise its racism with this phony issue that they prop up with constant lies:
"Political candidates often falsely link undocumented people to crime in the United States. Yet an extensive study of crimes in all 50 states and Washington, DC, from 1990 to 2014, found that undocumented immigration does not increase violent crime. A study of arrests in Texas found that, relative to undocumented people, U. S.-born citizens are more than twice as likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and more than four times more likely to be arrested for property crimes. Another study in Texas found that the criminal conviction rate for undocumented immigrants was 45 percent below that of native-born Texans. Immigrants of any legal status are typically found to be less involved in violence than native-born Americans."
Evidence clearly shows that, over the past two decades, most immigrants have shown up for the immigration court hearings that determine whether they have legal standing to remain in the United States. They do not slip into the country and disappear, as some political leaders claim. In fact, those who attend immigration court outside detention, on what are known as “non-detained” dockets, almost always continue to appear for their hearings when they are able to secure legal representation. There is no need to confine people in costly and inhumane immigration prisons.
One in six people in the United States workforce are immigrants. In fact, immigrants participate in the labor force at a higher rate than the U. S.-born population. Immigrants are also more likely to start businesses than native-born U. S. citizens. Furthermore, millions of people in the United States are employed by immigrant-founded and immigrant-owned companies.
The majority of the public believes that immigration brings benefits to the United States, including economic growth and enriching culture and values. Nearly three-quarters of people polled said that people immigrate to the United States for jobs and to improve their lives, and more than half say that the ability to immigrate is a “human right.” Multiple polls show that the majority of people in the United States support protections for people who are trying to escape persecution and torture in their homelands. According to one Pew Research Center poll, 72 percent believe that accepting civilians trying to escape war and violence should be an important goal of U. S. immigration policy.
The United States has much work ahead to reform its dysfunctional and often cruel immigration system. This November, and beyond, voters need to reject lies that demonize immigrants and demand policies that treat each person with dignity and fairness, no matter where they were born.

Don't kid yourself that this is about legal v. illegal immigrants. It is REALLY about the racism of the right wing that needs a group to scapegoat (like Hitler did with the Jews) because the right wing needs people to blame for the messes they make, especially in the economy. They cannot be accountable for anything they do wrong, and they do a LOT wrong, and their cult leader is apparently never at fault or wrong. Just ask them.

1 yLiterally nobody does. Anything you heads or try to say to the contrary is a wild mischaracterization. This is about adjudicating asylum cases and being a humanitarian bastion of the world…. which is a good intention and a good thing. If you think there’s just some wide open gate and everyone just bum rushes America, you need better information sources.
Also, in cases of deportations, it’s not the deportation itself, it’s the lack of dignity and respect it’s carried out with. Just because you determine someone has no legal cause to be here, over an invisible, human-imagined line that has no actual bearing on nature (which always supersedes any human interest, no exceptions…. we answer to nature, not vice versa), doesn’t mean they should be treated like animals. HOW you detain and deport people, and just the general attitude you do it with, matters, A LOT.

1 yPolicies on immigration, including borders, vary widely based on political, economic, and social perspectives. Open borders with unlimited immigration raise complex questions about security, resources, and social systems. Effective immigration policies often seek a balance between humanitarian concerns and maintaining economic and social stability.

Hence why people automatically lose the argument when they claim "open borders".
As for immigration. Only a court of law decides on who is legal or illegal. No country can have "unlimited" anything, let alone immigration.
Therefore your question is moot, and you're making no sense on either front. Adopting a family too is only possible through the legal apparatus. You cannot adopt a kid without jumping through hoops, but think you can magically adopt a family?
How many heads you got, kiddo?

1 yI do not however I do belive that current immigration laws need to be massively reformed not for the sake of the united states but for the sake of all the people who are desperate the people who are trying to escape. I really think it might be benifical to have like an island or some part of the us territory dedicated to housing applicants for immigration that way they can wait somewhere safe while they are are waiting on application acceptence without the worry of problems at home that might make them wish to immigrate to the us
00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yepp. Sounds like an infinite money glitch if you ask me. More people = More workforce = More productivity = Bigger economy. If i was the government I would try anything to rope in more people short of actually sending out the military to abduct people in nearby countries.
12 Reply2.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. For my country NO.
Our Labor Party is dominated by the Left wing which does seem to like open borders. Globally the Left seems to want open borders just as much as they want pronouns and call everybody, who like borders to be borders, far right extremists.
They have been voted out of office often enough they are starting to get that voters like borders to be borders. The Left has to be smashed a lot though before they start to get it. though.00 Reply- 6.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yThe difference between ''legal'' and ''illegal'' is paperwork only.
The REAL ''illegals'' are those EMPLOYERS who bypass paperwork for their own advantage.
As for ''my'' own countrymates:
Many of them are useless. ...
WHO let's THEM stay, and favour them over others who perform?

No one supports unlimited migration illegal or otherwise
The question is flawed
The second question is also flawed

@DryGermanGuy Why did they go down to south America and invite them all to come and tell them they will not be sent back?
- 1 y
I must have missed the press release where "THEY" invited everybody, could you point me to it? And who is "THEY" again? Do you even realize, that President Obama had higher numbers of deportations than Trump ever had? Which is ironic because clearly Obama is a member of "THEY", right?
- 1 y
@DryGermanGuy It was Joe Biden thst went down to Guatemala and said if thy came they would not be sent back. The caravans started right after that. It was all done on purpose. Trump had policies in place that secured the border and the wall was about to be completed. By cancelling finishing the wall he put out the welcome mat for every freeloader in the world to come to the US and get everything for free.

Cool story, too bad that Joe Biden never went to Guatemala: en.wikipedia.org/.../List_of_international_presidential_trips_made_by_Joe_Biden
Did you fall off the wagon or something? - 1 y
@DryGermanGuy it was another south American country then. He did this but it has been scrubbed from the internet.
- 1 y
"Scrubbed from the internet", boyo you are hilarious. I can't believe you work in the IT sector. What interest would the American right-wing media (FOX, Newsmax, OAN...) have to "scrub" negative news for the Democrats? What interest would the uninvolved foreign media have, to "scrub" something like that? Make it make sense!

@DryGermanGuy You try to find it. I did a pretty thorough search. I can remember how outraged I was when I saw this 4 years ago and it was on the internet a couple of years ago.

Means someone at least in a state congress, not some unwashed punk in a random street interview. This goes in both directions - some skinhead and his racist crap are not automatically representative for GOP positions.
Getting hysterical over identity politics is a staple of the right, the alt-right or both.

@Jennz6 I don't think people should be here illegally but, if someone was really in need of shelter while they got things straightened out, I would help them. To get it straightened out one way or another. That would mean either they got legal status here or they went back.

I had a father and son in my home during the summer of 23. Both from Mexico. The sons wife was murdered in road rage by a lunatic in Dallas like 3 months earlier. His two kids were with his mom in Dallas, and he worked with his dad during the week and went back every weekend. I worked with them 4 or 5 times remodeling homes.
