Do you support illegal immigration?

Question

Question is simple. Do you support the criminal act of trespassing and crossing a nations borders illegally?

I support legal immigration. I am all for it. Please, if you're not violent, not a criminal, have no record, and have skills, come to the US. If not Stay the F out.

Illegal immigration is bad but so is the legal immigration. The US imports 1 million immigrants a year, every year, legally. We import so many people that it is the main driver of population growth in this country. And many of whom share absolutely no cultural ties with United States. It's completely changed the social fiber and character of the country and will continue to do so as the foreign population grows. It's also helped keep wages low because there is more competition for jobs.

Overwhelmingly the reason these people come here is for jobs, they are economic migrants with 0 care about American culture or ideals. And as the immigrant population grows, so will the societal rifts.

Nope. I'm married to a legal immigrant who had to pass a medical and criminal background check, agree to not collect welfare or commit a crime, and prove how he would be a contributing member of society. Any violation in those terms and he'd be deported. It took 6 months for the process before he was allowed immigrate. He's really unhappy about all the people (many of them are dangerous criminals) coming from many nations across our southern border only to be handed money and an all expense paid trip to a luxury hotel someplace in "America" where they can stay until they get a free house... paid for by him and all the rest of the tax payers.

I'm a leftie and I'm against illegal immigrants. The problem I have here in the UK is they've crossed several perfectly good safe countries just to get here. I think we have a social responsibility to help those in genuine need but these people are abusing the system.

I understand the desire to escape a terrible situation and putting everything on the line to keep your family safe, so I can't be mad at anyone trying to come in. Criminal or not, from their perspective I'm almost rooting for them.

However, we can't have just open borders. Criminals can come through and even if every single person that came was productive, we can still only handle so many people coming in at once. You could say illegal immigration played a major roll in our last two financial crisis being as harsh as they were.

We must protect our borders, but once they're in if they've already become americanized it shouldn't be held against them the people in charge of watching the border didn't do their job.

From a Canadian perspective, we embrace newcomers into our country.

However it isn’t wise to cross illegally, the RMCP will easily deport you unless you claim refugee status. Illegal immigrants can try this option, however you have to have a genuine reason why you believe that you’ll be safer in Canada opposed to whichever country you originated from.

I’m not entirely against it, assuming they try to claim the status. I’ve heard it’s easier to cross illegally and attempt to claim it rather than going the legal route of it. People who genuinely want better lives for themselves or their family I wholeheartedly would welcome. Individuals who will bring crime and violence need to be kept out.

I love the fact that the U. S. is a multi-ethnic society. But we are currently being invaded by illegal aliens under this administration. They are causing great harm to this country and posing great danger to it's citizens.

All of my grandparents came to America as legal immigrants. They all had physicals, they had jobs and nobody collected a dime from the taxpayers. They learned English, worked hard, bought homes and raised families. They were very proud when they became American citizens.

What Biden has created at the southern border in an invasion. Each of the over ten million people who have illegally entered this country will cost between $35,000 and $50,000 per year going forward in benefits. It will take the next administration years to clean up this mess.

of course not, the whole idea of legal is to control the economy, resources, ensure quality, health, and limit impact to citizens.

the only value here is to grow our economy fast... trouble is, it's the opposite, ti's a drain until they are productive and that could take a long time. We dont' know whom they are. This is a disaster in slow motion.

I expect to soon have areas of major cities that are off limits as gangs form, just like in France.
